After revealing to Woman’s Day that she was “quitting Sydney”, it looks like Lara Bingle has found a new home.
The bikini model is making good use of her coat collection as she bundles up and starts a new life in the Big Apple with her beau, actor Sam Worthington, 37.
The 26-year-old celebrity, who made a name for herself as a bikini-clad beauty in her “Where the bloody hell are you?” tourism campaign for Australia in 2006, has now left her homeland once and for all.
In a conversation on Instagram between Lara and New York-based photographer Ben Watts, the brother of actress Naomi Watts, the blonde beauty confirmed the move.
When Ben asked, “When are we shooting…Your in New York City?”, Lara exclaimed, “I’m here to stay! Catch up this week?”
In January, Lara revealed she was fed up with her lack of privacy in Australia.
“Sydney’s my home but I don’t like it,” she confided exclusively to a Woman’s Day photographer. “I can’t even go to the supermarket without getting papped [snapped by paparazzi]. I don’t like the attention.”
Her Aussie boyfriend of five months agrees.
“Sam hates it! We don’t get any peace,” Lara said.
Lara revealed that the pair seem to get papped “everywhere they go”, so we aren’t sure if her new digs will deter paparazzi attention.
She shocked the world and the trainers when US Biggest Loser winner Rachel Frederickson revealed her 70.3 kilo weight loss recently.
Now the 24-year-old has admitted she may have taken things a little too far.
“Maybe I was a little too enthusiastic in my training to get to the finale,” she revealed to People.
Rachel gained criticism over her weight and the nature of the show when she revealed her final weight loss on the NBC’s show’s finale last week.
The 5’4” competitor lost 70.3 kilos, going from 117.9 kilos to 47 kilos in a matter of months, and her record-breaking weight loss saw her take out the competition and the $US250,000 prize.
The weight loss of more than half of her body weight put her slightly below the healthy body mass index, according to the National Institute of Health, and sparked rumours of an eating disorder.
When asked “point blank” by the mag if she has an eating disorder, Rachel replied, “I am very, very healthy.”
While the show’s executive producer David Bloom said all the contestants were monitored throughout the seven-and-a-half months on the show and passed all medical tests, the trainers say they were shocked by her sudden weight loss.
“The first thing that went through my mind was, ‘That’s just too much’,” Rachel’s trainer, Dolvett Quince told the magazine.
Fellow trainers Jillian Michaels and Bob Harper were also visibly shocked during Rachel’s big reveal on the show’s finale.
The show’s producers are now considering making some “small but significant tweaks” to the series’ production including more check-ins and support following the finale.
“There might be more focus on what happens to the winner after they are supposedly done with the show,” a source close to the series told E! News.

It’s hard to believe that The Wolf of Wall Street star Leonardo DiCaprio is yet to get his hands on a golden statue. Many believe this will be the talented actor’s year to take out the Best Actor nod.
12 Years a Slave star Lupita Nyong’o has become a firm fashion favourite at every red carpet event and this appearance was no exception.
Alan Partridge creator Coogan is nominated for two awards – Best Adapted Screenplay and Best Picture for his work on heartbreaking drama, Philomena.

The Weekly has obtained an exclusive skinny about the 23-year-old’s signing and her hopes of what impact the deal might have on the wider fashion community.
Even over the phone you can hear that Georgina, or Geo as she has been nicknamed since childhood, is smiling. Beaming even. Despite the temperature reading a cool -8 degrees Celsius outside her New York apartment you get the sense that nothing is going to chill the curvaceous model’s excitement about her new career move.
“It’s for sure my most exciting job yet. When I found out I had to keep it quiet for a while but it was hard because I just wanted to celebrate” said Burke.
Torrid, which carries sizes 12-28 and boasts 236 retailers worldwide, services a substantial chunk of the US retail market with a reported 68 per cent of American women wearing above a size 12. Tall and voluptuous with honey blonde hair and cheek bones sharp enough to slice meat on, it’s not hard to see why the retail giant picked Burke to become their first ever official face.
“In the plus-size world, there are not a ton of models and what sometimes happens is you see the same girl over and over. We wanted to find someone newer and fresher that we could make our own,” said Liz Munoz, the brand’s senior vice president of product development.
Georgina appears in the label’s new swimwear campaign and her buxom body and bountiful curves are a refreshing sight from the often underweight norms of the fashion industry. In her first major shoot for the brand Geo’s ample figure is perfectly poured into the garments with her bronzed size 16 frame radiating confidence.
Georgina giggles down the line when complimented on her stunning swimwear shots and reveals that selective hearing is one tool she employs to help embrace her gorgeous girl curves.
“I never care too much about the negative things people have to say. I’ve always been a pretty confident person and I’m very comfortable with my body”, she says.
Geo was discovered as a teen and then encouraged by her Australian agent and director of Bella Models in Sydney, Chelsea Bonner, to make the move to New York three years ago to pursue her modelling career. Bonner is equally excited about her prodigy’s signing and says it demonstrates a huge step forward for the fashion industry. Bonner hopes the deal will open up other brands to the idea of using women beyond a sample size to front major labels.
“Torrid wanted to make a point of signing a model who their customers could relate to- someone with confidence. Geo is that truly confident curvy girl!” says Bonner.
While rare, the Torrid signing isn’t without precedent. Of late, voluptuous models such as Kate Upton, Tara Lynn and Aussie supermodel Robyn Lawley have all graced the covers of some major style bibles like Vogue Italia, Elle France and even the coveted CR Fashion Book, the brain child of former Vogue Paris editor-in-chief Carine Roitfeld.
Georgina says that her new venture with Torrid has been met with overwhelming positivity and believes this reflects mainstream society’s hunger for more size diversity in fashion campaigns.
“It might sound silly but since this went public I have been getting so many messages from people on social media. People are like ‘Finally a model that is actually curvy’ which means people are happy to see bigger models working for the labels they love”.
Geo says that while living and working in New York is already a dream come true, she really hopes that now she can use this career move as a stepping stone to help inspire other women to love themselves.
“I want women to embrace their bodies and I’m happy to be seen as a confident healthy role model to help them do it.”
The 31-year-old Brit, a Muslim convert who officially changed his name by to Ashraf Islam in 2010, handed himself in to the police the day after Drummer Lee Rigby was brutally killed in south-east London in May last year saying he intended to kill Prince Harry because the royal “had blood on his hands”.
Even though Islam didn’t act upon his plans and they were found to be “vague and unlikely to succeed” Judge Richard McGregor-Johnson deemed him a risk to the public and sent him to prison for three years. Islam had carried out “extensive research” the Judge said and “had given the matter considerable thought”. The plot involved Islam using a low-calibre pistol at close range.
“I accept that there is nothing here that could be described as professional plans,” the Judge said, adding that he had considered a longer sentence.

A woman who posted candid images of her post-cancer surgery body online was horrified when more than 100 people “unfriended” her because they deemed the pictures “offensive”.
Beth Whaanga was diagnosed with cancer on her 32nd birthday last year and underwent a double mastectomy and a hysterectomy.
Her various surgeries have left her body scarred but she was determined not to be ashamed so asked her friend Nadia Masot, a photographer, to capture her new figure in a series of portraits.
Beth was thrilled with the images and shared them on Facebook but was horrified when more than 100 people immediately “unfriended” her, saying the pictures were obscene and disgusting.
“These pictures are in no way pornographic,” Beth’s sister Emma Rayner said. “They represent the truth about cancer and what measures some women will need to take to survive.
“I think it’s brave that she can show her scars and I think many more women will hopefully check their own bodies every now and then.”
Beth says she is proud of her body because it has beat cancer. Warning: confronting images featured.

In a candid interview for the ABC’s Family Confidential, the Kerr family revealed an acute deterioration in their relationship with Miranda as the famous model has become more and more distant.
Kerr’s family say they haven’t seen her or her son Flynn in more than a year and that they only learned of the failure of her marriage from her estranged husband Orlando Bloom. Kerr and Bloom split late last year after three years of marriage.
“We have been best friends for most of our life. We used to talk every day,” Miranda’s mother, Therese said. “I would send her text messages during the day.”

But the once close family unit broke down after the former Victoria’s Secret Angel moved to New York to pursue her modelling career in 2009.
That decline steepened last year when Miranda told her family “now that I’m 30, I’m going to take control”, her father John said.
She later fired her mother Therese from her role as managing director of her skincare line KORA Organics.
“Miranda’s life is so different now [and] she’s surrounded by ‘yes’ people all the time,” her mother said.

“It’s so important for me to be real, to be true, to be who she needs me to be.”
Kerr’s brother Matthew said that he wanted to spend some ‘one on one’ time with Kerr without “an entourage of people we don’t know”.
Therese and John Kerr are particularly concerned with not seeing their grandson.
“You have to be in the media to be able to get your message out, but then our little Flynny doesn’t know what it’s like to walk outside without paparazzi,” said Therese.

Kerr’s grandmother Ann also worries for her great grandson and famous granddaughter, whom she accompanied to photo shoots when she was younger.
“I miss the baby and I think he’s missing out on family, that closeness that we have always had,” she said.

A spokeswoman for the model says she is “grateful to her parents, brother and extended family in Australia for their ongoing support and love”.
Kerr was recently announced as the newly signed face of international brand H&M, and is rumoured to be dating Australian billionaire James Packer.
