Prince William and Kate Middleton seeking nanny for Prince George

Prince William and Kate are reportedly discreetly looking for a new nanny to accompany them on their upcoming Australian tour.
Prince William, Kate Middleton and Prince George

They are a modern couple who planned to be thoroughly modern parents – no formal nannies or ‘second mummies’ taking control of childcare at Kensington Palace.

But before Prince George has celebrated his first birthday it seems blue blood traditions may have prevailed, with Kate and Wills on the hunt for a nanny.

It is reported that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have approached a number of London agencies seeking full-time help to care for the Prince, including Nannies of St James who specialise in childcare for wealthy clients and overseas royalty.

Since last year, the new parents have been assisted on a part-time basis by William’s childhood nanny, 71-year-old Jessie Webb. But Ms Webb has been more of a housekeeper than a nanny, helping with multiple household chores as well as Prince George. Kate and William have been doing much of the hands-on work themselves, with Kate’s mother Carole helping occasionally also.

But evidently the busy lives of a Royal couple have taken their toll and the new parents have revised their previous shunning of a Royal nanny.

It is also said that help is needed to make holidays easier, so it is likely that the new nanny will accompany the family on its trip to Australia in April.

A touching tribute to Charlotte Dawson

A touching tribute to Charlotte Dawson

Woman’s Dayreporter Jonathan Marshall writes a touching tribute to his beautiful friend, Charlotte Dawson.

Dear Charlotte,

You were my Australian mum, one of my best friends, an inspiration, a flatmate, a shoulder to cry on, a person to laugh with, one of the few who really got me.

I don’t cry much. But this week has been different. When I was headed for breakfast on Saturday I got the call. I was numb. I didn’t know what to do or say.

A few hours later, things changed; I broke down.

Late in 2011, I called to tell you I thought it was time for me to leave New Zealand to build a career in Australia.

Without any hesitation, you told me to book a flight and come live with you.

I was hesitant, afraid of the obstacles involved in setting up in a new city. You told me to stop worrying and said I would be fine, that you would make sure of it. And you did.

We would often joke about how ironic it was we became mates.

As a shambolic teenager, I wrote nasty stories about you on my embarrassingly scurrilous website nztabloid.com.

You went on the Holmes show and dished up a well-deserved serving, saying I was “just an attention-seeking 17-year-old”. But then, somehow, we built a bridge and formed the most fantastic friendship. Thank you for your forgiveness. But that’s what you were: generous, loving, warm and caring.

I always knew Sydney was fun but you made it so much better than it would have been. When we started looking for an apartment to rent together and found the Finger Wharf, we were both jumping with excitement knowing the memories the property would deliver.

Just over a week ago, you called and ordered me to come around. The crowd grew; the deck of the apartment came alive.

We danced until it was time to get some rest before work the next day. I remember whispering in your ear how much I loved you. And, Charlotte, I meant it.

When others walked away, you were there. You never turned your back on the people in your life that others thought were mad. But hey, you were a bit mad yourself – and we all treasured that.

When I needed a growling, when I was acting crazy, you told me to pull my head in. When I introduced you to my friends, you would welcome them into your home with unconditional hospitality. You warned me off those you thought were trouble. They all loved you. You were their glimpse into the world of showbiz.

I know you were struggling. It showed more recently than ever before. You thought you were getting old; the fame game wasn’t giving you the rewards it once did.

But bloody hell you judged it so wrong. You had so much more to give. The talent behind that unprecedented white-teethed smile was like no other person I have ever met.

But now you are gone. I can’t say I’m not angry with you. I am. You should be sitting with me right now having a wine – a “buttery chard” as you would say.

Goodbye, Charlotte. I will never forget you. I can’t wait to sit with you and reminisce on the special times.

There were heaps.

Love, Jonathan xxx

Chris, 30, and Elsa, 37, announced they were expecting in November 2013 and now the couple’s representative has confirmed they will add twins to their family later this year.

Already parents to 20-month-old daughter India Rose, the loved-up pair couldn’t have looked happier on the Golden Globes red carpet as they posed together and showed off Elsa’s baby bump for the first time.

“You have to make an effort and try to stay together as much as you can,” Pataky told People in May about putting her family first.

“If we start splitting and doing other things, it’s not going to last. We try and keep it as normal as much as we can — like a typical family.”

Beyonce’s baby Blue takes a $5500 bath

Beyonce’s Baby Takes A $5500 Bath

Picture: Splash/Beyonce Tumblr

Beyonce’s baby Blue Ivy was always set to have a privileged lifestyle but now her superstar mama appears to have gone a little gaga by splashing out $5500 on a bath for her two-year-old daughter.

Recent reports say the Drunk In Love singer ordered up the pricey Evian bath for her and Blue to share at their suite in the Hotel Victor in Miami on New Year’s Eve.

The spa treatment involves pouring 1,000 litres of twice-purified bottled Evian water into a bath tub – which, when we come to think of it, must take ages!

Gerbera daisies are then scattered in the water and the bath is surrounded by scented candles.

The relaxing experience is said to revitalise the skin and purify the senses.

Beyonce, who’d already paid $5500 a night for her suite at the hotel , reportedly also ordered a ‘platter of smoked salmon lollipops and a dessert plate called the Seven Sins of Chocolate’, a source told Now magazine.

A Hotel Victor denied the establishment offers Evian baths but reports of the treatment date back to 2005, when Serena Williams was the first to try it out.

It has since become known as the “world’s most expensive spa treatment” and has been used by the likes of Britney Spears.

One can only wonder what Beyonce thought when she finally pulled the plug on her bath of bling-water.

What fashion bloggers really earn

To their millions of followers, Australia's leading fashion bloggers are at the cutting-edge of style. Yet, with some earning six-figure salaries, it's their business practices that have started to come under scrutiny.
Antoinette Koulas, aka Sydney Fashion Blogger, earns up to $5000 every time she updates her Instagram feed.

For the first time, a rate card laying out exactly how much some of the country’s top bloggers charge for mentions on their social media platforms has been published.

The Ministry of Talent document appears exclusively in the March issue of The Australian Women’s Weekly.

It details how bloggers are earning up to $850, plus GST of course, to post client mentions on their Instagram accounts.

Among those named is Antoinette Koulas, aka Sydney Fashion Blogger. She earns up to $5000 every time she updates her Instagram feed, pushing paid-for images out to her more than 500,000 followers.

“Clients say, ‘I’ll pay you to wear that dress, I’ll pay you to wear those shoes’, so, yeah, you know, they sponsor me. I hate to say it, but if you think of me like a big billboard, people are paying for that space,” she says.

In the week before this story went to press, Sydney Fashion Blogger mentioned 28 different brands in 23 Instagram posts.

“Seventy per cent of my posts are sponsored,” she told The Weekly. You do the maths.

As the pay packets of top fashion bloggers have started to hit the $150,000 a year mark, according to industry sources, the government has started to sit up and take notice, with both the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) and the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) suddenly taking a keen interest in the work these women do.

As Damien Woolnough, deputy editor of Elle Australia magazine says, “Some of these bloggers’ skirts may be transparent, but their business practices aren’t.”

Corby suing Australian Federal Police

Mercedes Corby

Mercedes Corby

A hearing to give legal direction is scheduled at the Federal Court in Sydney this afternoon after Corby’s lawyers lodged an application against the AFP Commissioner earlier in the week.

The move follows a similar application on Tuesday from Seven West Media, the company which owns the Seven Network, against the AFP.

The network seeks the return of material seized in the raids and to have the decision to issue search warrants set aside.

Schapelle Corby was released from Bali’s Kerobokan jail on February 10 and was reported to have done a deal with Seven for an exclusive TV interview worth an estimated $2 million, a figure denied by both Seven and the Corbys.
