Legend designer Carla Zampatti kicked off Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia 2014 in stellar style with her runway show at Sydney’s stylish Carriageworks last night.
Sleek and sexy black and white tailoring dominated Zampatti’s collection, but the monochrome motif was soon disrupted by bright and voluminous floor length gowns which added pops of colour.
With an impressive 49 years in the industry, the celebrated designer drew a celebrity studded crowd to premiere her collection.
Singer Paula Abdul, designer Terry Biviano and models, Jesinta Campbell and Nikki Phillips sat front row.
AWW fashion editor, Mattie Cronan, said the fluid silk shirts, column skirts and bell bottom pants were her favourite pieces in the collection.

Sleek and feminine silhouettes were coupled with bold accessories.
The models dewy moist skin glistened down the runway.
The war between feminine and masculine was evident on the runway.

Interesting fabrics and textures added extra allure to the colourful pieces in Spring-Summer line.
Sweeping floor length gowns were sexed up with thigh-high flesh flashing splits.
The cobalt blue full-bodied sheer skirt was a hit as it bounced down the runway.
Black lace pants were a nod to edgy elegance.
The minimalist range was matched by the sparse and clinical space created at Sydney’s Carriageworks.
Space-inspired perspex masks adorned the models, adding a futuristic element to the Zampatti runway.
