Beyonce and Jay Z’s $180k wedding gift for Kimye!

Jay Z and Beyoncé may not be attending Kim Kardashian and Kanye West’s lavish wedding in France next month, but they’re definitely making up for it!

The power couple are reportedly spending up big by shouting Kimye a spectacular honeymoon gift to make up for their no-show.

Jay Z and Beyonce are said to be splashing out $181,000 on a luxury yacht rental for Kim and Kanye to relax on during their honeymoon. Jay Z will also be throwing his best mate a grand bucks party which will set him back a ‘small fortune’.

Jay Z chose to turn down the wedding  invitation because he and his superstar wife don’t want to appear on Kim’s reality seriesKeeping Up with the Kardashians.

“Jay Z would be there if it wasn’t going to be such a public event,” a source told the UK newspaperThe Mirror.

“Of course, Kanye asked Jay to be his best man at the wedding. But Jay politely declined the request.

“Jay just didn’t want to be associated with the Kardashian reality show. Kanye told Jay he understands why he would decline, but he’s still very hurt.”

Duchess of Cambridge takes over the DJ decks

The royals were invited to try their skills scratching a beat at the Northern Sound System youth centre in the Adelaide.
Kate Middleton and Prince William DJ

Prince William scratched a track called “Gourmet” by the local producer Delta. He did well, but was not in the same class as his wife.

“She was fantastic,” said Shane Petersen, a workshop facilitator in the Hip Hop class the couple visited. “But he can fly a helicopter so it’s horses for courses.”

Fresh from glamping at Uluru, the royal couple came from Edinburgh straight to the youth centre to see youth empowerment programs in Adelaide’s north.

Named after the Queen in 1955, the satellite suburb started out as a working class enclave servicing the Holden car factory, but in recent years has been plagued by unemployment and disadvantage.

Wearing a pale pink wool suit by Alexander McQueen and nude stiletto pumps, the Duchess was greeted by Health Minister Jack Snelling and Elizabeth Mayor Glenn Docherty before being presented with a posy of Australian natives by Lauren Stephenson, 6, from the Make A Wish Australia Foundation.

The Duchess spoke at length to the young girl, who has been in remission for two years from bone cancer, before William also joined her for a chat.

In the hip hop class, William was put on the spot by Marcus Reilly, who asked him about his taste in music.

“I like house music, I still like a bit of rock and roll and the classics and a bit of R and B,” Prince William told him.

After a private session with youth who talked to the royals about their disadvantaged backgrounds, the couple watched an exhibition of break dancing, singing and an indigenous dance project, before moving outside where Prince William showed off his aerosol art skills.

They watched a BMX and scooter display and while daredevil riders did somersaults in the skate bowl, the Duke and Duchess were given a present for Prince George – his first skateboard decorated with boxing kangaroos and emblazoned with ‘George’ in cursive script.

The skateboard’s designer, Casey, 16, from Mark Oliphant College, said she took four days to map out the design and the couple were thrilled to receive it.

After spending a short time talking to the crowds lining the Northern Sound System, the couple left for a civic reception at the Playford Civic Centre.

Julia Roberts talks about her sister’s shocking death

In a recent magazine interview the Oscar winner opens up about the drama surrounding the shocking death of her sibling Nancy Motes.
Julia Roberts for WSJ Magazine

Julia Roberts has broken her silence, speaking about the death of her half-sister, Nancy Motes, who passed away in February this year after an apparent drug overdose.

In an interview that took place less than a month after the tragedy, the 46-year-old Pretty Woman star battled tears as she opened up about the sadness of losing her sibling in the May issue of WSJ Magazine.

“It’s just heartbreak,” Julia said of Nancy, who was 37 when she died. “It’s only been 20 days. There aren’t words to explain what any of us have been through in these last 20 days. It’s hour-by-hour some days, but you just keep looking ahead.”

Nancy Motes

Motes, who worked as a production assistant on Glee, took to Twitter to lash out at her famous sister in the weeks leading up to her death.

“So my ‘sister’ said that with all her friends & fans she doesn’t need any more love. Just so you all know ‘America’s Sweetheart’ is a B—H,” she Tweeted on Jan. 19.

“Do you want to be a fan of someone so cruel? She’s not even that good of an actress. Happy you totally F—ed with me?” she tweeted the same day.

Motes struggled with obesity and even underwent gastric bypass surgery, which led to a dramatic weight loss in 2010.

She said her decision to have the operation came after years of painful comparison to her sex-symbol sister and told British newspaper The Sun her older sibling could be quiet cruel with her criticism of her weight battles.

“When I was in high school and she was an adult, she would just let me know that I was definitely overweight,” she told the UK newspaper. “She would make it quite clear to me — and in a not-so-nice manner.”

Motes, whose other siblings are actor Eric Roberts and actress Lisa Roberts Gillan, said she always felt like a black sheep among her thespian family.

While Roberts – who shared a biological mother with Nancy – did allude to the pair’s tumultuous relationship in her candid interview, she also opened up about retreating into her family to try and cope with her grief.

“You don’t want anything bad to happen to anyone, but there are so many tragic, painful, inexplicable things in the world.

“But [as with] any situation of challenge and despair, we must find a way, as a family. It’s so hard to formulate a sentence about it outside the weepy huddle of my family.”

Julia Roberts winning her oscar

The A-lister – who lives away from the Hollywood hustle and bustle in a $9.5 million dollar Malibu eco-mansion with her husband, Danny Moder and three kids – says she manages to live peacefully out of the spotlight.

“I don’t consider myself a celebrity, [at least not] how it is fostered in our culture today,” revealed Roberts. “I don’t know if I’m old and slow, but there seems to be a frenzy to it.”

The actress joked that even her children, twins, Hazel and Finn, nine, and son Henry, six, didn’t know what a big star their mother was until recently.

“For a long time, they weren’t even aware I had a job because I was home so much. Now they get it.”

Prince George the topic of conversation with Kate Middleton at tea party

The Duchess enjoyed a candid conversation about her son George with a group of students at an afternoon tea party.
Prince William, Kate Middleton and Prince George

Yesterday, while most of the tour entourage were dazzled by Uluru in this unique part of Australia, Kate enjoyed a candid conversation all about her son George with a group of students at an afternoon tea party in the Uluru-Kata Tjuta Cultural Centre.

A few of the girls wanted to know about George, including Shannon Hunt, 17, who bonded well with the new royal mum. “We asked if they missed him,” Shannon said afterwards. “Kate said that she’d love to have him here [in the Red Centre] with her.” The Duchess reportedly told them: ‘He’s been changing so much while we’ve been away’.

She also explained with a wry smile that the chubby babe, who Prince William has amusingly described as “a bit of a bruiser”, has grown an “extra fat roll” while they’ve been away.

And while George is happy and excitable on terra firma, Kate said: “He can get a bit grumpy on the long flights”. The third in line to the throne has two more to go. One short hop from Canberra to Sydney and then the more gruelling journey back to the UK.

Royal Recycler: Kate Middleton recycles favourite outfits

Kate Middleton re-wears a high street favourite on her trip to the Aussie outback.
Kate Middleton recycle dresses

While she may have a drool-worthy designer closet, the Duchess of Cambridge isn’t afraid to hit rewind on her wardrobe and wear her favourite outfits more than once.

During her tour Down Under the stylish royal has debuted an array of elegant ensembles – think the gorgeous yellow Roksanda Ilincic shift – as well as some familiar frocks, including yesterday’s 50’s inspired Hobbs dress and woven belt.

The Queen-to-be was previously photographed donning the outback outfit – sling back wedges and all – on a visit to Bacon’s College in London on July 26, 2012.

While you might not expect a royal to be a repeat outfit offender, the down-to-earth Duchess loves to get a lot of wear out of her wardrobe.

Kate’s outfit yesterday had already been worn in 2012.

The Duchess stepped off the plane yesterday wearing a flattering mushroom Roksanda Ilincic dress. While it was not the same dress, the royal sported the exact same designer cut in light lilac for an event at the Royal Academy in 2012.

Catherine wore a cerulean Stella McCartney frock for her arrival in the nation’s capital on Sunday. She wore the blue frock again in August to the London 2012 Games.

The Duchess wore this familiar lace Temperley London dress with a bright-red clutch for a dinner at her alma mater, the University of St Andrews last year, but she first debuted the gown almost two years ago at the War Horse U.K. premiere. She added a black velvet clutch to match the waistband.

Kate in 2009 and at Prince Philip’s 90th birthday celebrations in June 2011.

Kate recycled her cream engagement dress for Canada Day celebrations in 2011.

The Duchess at the wedding of Laura Parker Bowles in 2006 and at the wedding of Zara Phillips in 2011.

Kate donned this dress twice in 2011. Once to an event in Los Angeles and again at a pre-wedding celebration for Zara Phillips.

Kate at an engagement in April 2011 and in an official portrait for her Canada tour.

The Duchess of Cambridge was spotted wearing the same pale pink Emilia Wickstead coat dress twice in just 11 days in 2012. She first wore the frock at a luncheon at Windsor Castle, before recycling it for a tea party at Buckingham Palace.

Kate wore her black and white spotted Topshop dress and black blazer ensemble twice during her pregnancy.
