Vicar reveals wife’s affair in Sunday sermon

He revealed he questioned his faith after his wife left him for a famous UK actor.

A heartbroken vicar has opened up about his wife leaving him for Robson Green, a UK TV star, during a congregation yesterday and said he hopes they’ll “have a good life together”.

Rev Geoffrey Short, 57, has two children with his wife, Zoila, 43.

He told the Sunday Mirror how he’s been struggling to forgive her and the actor.

He spoke in the hour-long service in front of 60 people about his recent troubled times.

“For me over the last few weeks and last few months, there have been some difficult times.”

“I have gained great strength from being able to talk to God but also listening to what he had been saying to me.”

After the service, he said: “Now is the time for us all to get on with our lives.”

“I have drawn from the people at the church a great deal of healing and peace.”

“These people have been absolutely wonderful. I have taken comfort in my faith. I hope Robson Green and Zoila have a good life together.”

Rev. Short

He recently revealed that after the betrayal, he was questioning his faith.

Zoila, a Sunday school teacher, met actor Robson at the gym. She’s now now living with him in a luxury flat.

She broke the news of the affair to Rev. Short while they were seated in the kitchen of their vicarage. “I’m leaving you for Robson Green,” she calmly confessed.

“When she told me I felt anger, amazement,” he explained.

“There are questions I’ll probably never get answers to. It’s just total shock, disbelief and sorrow.”

“Of course there is a lot of anger towards Green, but as a Christian I have to forgive. It’s made me question my faith, but I’ve got to stay strong.”

Short is having a hard time dealing with pain when Robson’s profile is so big in the UK.

“The guy’s practically haunting me, taking over my whole life. He’s on Grantchester, ¬Northumberland Tales, it’s horrible.

“I want people to know what’s happened. I’ve got nothing to hide. I don’t feel I’ve driven her away, but it’s not just me who’s been hurt, it’s so many people.”

Mary’s little Prince and Princess all grown up!

All eyes are usually on Crown Princess Mary but yesterday her eldest children stole the spotlight, looking very grown up indeed!

Prince Christian, 10, and Princess Isabella, eight, stepped out with their parents and little sister Josephine to celebrate grandmother Queen Margrethe’s 76th birthday in Copenhagen.

And while it seems like only yesterday the Mary was introducing them to the world as tiny little bundles of joy, the little Prince and Princess looked very grown up indeed as they waved from the balcony of Amalienborg Palace.

Christian looked like a miniature version of his father, Crown Prince Frederik, dressed in a matching navy blue suit with a smart shirt, tie and pocket square. His hair was styled with a crisp side parting, and stuck in place with product, giving him an adorably polished appearance.

Isabella – also the spitting image of her father – wore a sophisticated double-breasted coat and a trendy braided hairstyle embellished with a flower.

Little Princess Josephine, five, was also there, and is growing up to look much more like her mother than her older siblings. Her twin brother Prince Vincent was not in attendance.

Kerri-Anne Kennerley shares beautiful photo of John and Digger

Following her husband John’s terrifying fall, Aussie icon Kerri-Anne Kennerley has shared a touching photo of their dog Digger visiting her husband in hospital.

On Saturday, the 62-year-old took to Instagram to share an adorable photo of their beloved Golden Retriever spending time with John.

“Today was the first time Digger recognised John and made us all happy. So true, pets really are therapy,” she wrote alongside the snapshot.

In the image, Digger looks thrilled to greet John. And the feeling is mutual as the 75-year-old smiles back at his precious pooch.

John has fractured his C3 and C4 vertebrae and been diagnosed as in incomplete quadriplegic. He is still breathing through a ventilator and cannot walk. It will be a year until they know the full outcome of the injuries.

KAK shared the sweet photo with her 10,000 followers.

Kerri-Anne’s positive post comes a week after her heart-wrenching Sunday Night interview, where she spoke for the first about John’s tragic fall.

Following the show, the couple received an outpouring of love and support which promoted the TV star to send a message of thanks to her fans (you can watch it the player above).

“I’d just like to take a moment on behalf of John and I to thank you for the overwhelming support we’ve received from people we don’t even know,” she said.

“Human nature is a wonderful thing. You’re generous, you’ve got great spirit and for us it’s been very, very important.

“We’re standing tall, we will survive and a lot of it’s to do with you. Thanks.”

Kerri-Anne revealed to Sunday Night that her husband of over 30 years still has a long way to go.

“This is a man in pain. He can’t eat. He’s being fed by a tube. He can’t speak. He can’t breathe,” she said of her husband, who suffered extensive injuries when he fell over a garden hedge while taking photos at a gold resort near Coffs Harbour last month.

Since the accident in March, the television star has not left her husband’s side.

The stoic star went on to explain: “It’ll be a year before you know what he’ll be left with, and we don’t know, I’d love to be wrong, but I think it would be a miracle.”

“He’s trapped in his mind, he’s trapped in his body. He can’t touch me. All I can do is ever so gently hold his head and one shoulder and kiss him.”

John has been at the Royal North Shore Hospital in Sydney since the fall.

But Kerri-Anne knows nothing but resilience, having battled some of life’s biggest challenges with her husband of over three decades right by her side.

“As exhausting as it is going to the hospital and spending hours and hours there every day, I get very antsy and excited when I go in there because I really look forward to seeing him,” she explained.

“It is a battle. But I want him back so bad… I want him, to actually be as happy and have the creativity that he’s always loved and enjoyed.”

Our thoughts are with John and Kerri-Anne through this difficult time.

John cannot walk or talk but is able to mouth words to his loving wife.

Woman’s deadly find in Woolworths’ broccoli

The critter she found was anything but harmless.

A Gold Coast woman has found a deadly surprise in her broccoli she bought from Woolworths on the weekend … a redback spider.

She bought the vegetable with the hidden poisonous spider from the Runaway Bay store and spotted the spider when she was washing the broccoli.

Thankfully, she wasn’t bitten.

Dee alerted the grocery store to the potential spider infestation through their Facebook page.

She wrote: “Hi team Woolworths. I just had a nasty surprise – a live redback spider in my broccoli purchased today at your Runaway Bay store.”

“I am lucky it did not bite me as I washed it. I plan to take in the critter (now frozen) and my receipt tomorrow. I thought I should mention it in case there is an infestation.”

A Woolworths spokesperson soon replied: “We’re very concerned about this, Dee, and take incidents like this very seriously.”

“Please let us know your phone number, and state, in a Private Message at (their message page) so that we can follow this up with you ASAP. Thanks.”

Dee has since been contacted by the head of Woolworths corporate affairs who informed her an investigation is underway.

Tara’s kids ask: ‘When is mummy coming home?’

The families of the detained 60 Minutes crew have released a joint statement.

A joint statement this morning from the families of the detained 60 Minutes crew in Lebanon has described the situation as a “living nightmare”, and how they’re “anxious and worried sick”.

The parents have admitted they haven’t told some of their children what’s really going on. “It’s not an easy conversation to have with a five- or seven-year-old who ask as they go to sleep each night when mummy or daddy is coming home.”

Brisbane mother Sally Faulkner is behind bars for kidnapping charges after trying to take back her two kids from estranged husband Ali Elamine. She was alongside 60 Minutes journalist Tara Brown, producer Stephen Rice, cameraman Ben Williamson and sound recordist David Ballment.

Stephen Rice

The four 60 Minutes crew members were trying to cover the story and were arrested on April 7.

The families of the crew are having regular meetings with the Nine Network to discuss the charges of kidnapping, physical assault, hiding information and criminal conspiracy.

Ben Williamson

“From what we know, they are in good health, keeping their spirits up and are being well looked after by the Lebanese authorities.”

“You can’t imagine how comforting it is to know that. That is all that is getting us through at the moment.”

They said they haven’t spoken to their partners since before they were arrested. While the families are getting daily updates, there isn’t much to go on as they’re unfamiliar with Lebanese legal system.

“People forget that Tara, Stephen, Ben and Tangles were there doing a job; covering a story. As it turns out, a very important story. Obviously, this time, something went wrong.”

The statement continued: “But if we have one message it’s that people who have been so quick to judge should at least wait until all the facts are known.”

“If we don’t have all the facts, how can anyone else?”

Celebrating Queen Margrethe II’s 76th birthday

It was a birthday celebration fit for a Queen!
Princess Mary Prince Frederik Queen Margrethe

Saturday the 16th of April marked the Queen of Denmark’s 76th birthday, so to celebrate the special occasion, members of the Danish royal family came together.

Taking a break from the celebrations, the family stood on the balcony of the Amalienborg Palace in Copenhagen.

Crown Princess Mary was seen waving and flashing her pearly whites, wearing a stunning magenta coat adorned with a glittering broach over a white blouse and a black skirt.

Standing alongside her, was her handsome hubby, Crown Prince Frederik, who looked more than happy to be celebrating his mother’s milestone birthday.

The couple’s four children, Prince Christian, 10, Princess Isabella, eight and their youngest, five-year-old twins Princess Josephine and Prince Vincent also joined in with their grandmother’s festivities, smiling and waving to the crowd.

They grow up so fast!

The Danish royals gave a cheerful wave for their ruling monarch.

The family were joined by her majesty herself, who stepped out to acknowledge and thank onlookers, wearing a bright blue dress and long matching coat.

Prince Henrik, Prince Joachim and Princess Marie were also in attendance.

It’s been a big week of proceedings for Prince Frederik and Princess Mary, who grew up in Tasmania.

Queen Margrethe was a vision in sky blue.

On Wednesday, the Crown Princess braved the April chill to welcome the Mexican President, Enrique Peña Nieto and his wife, Angelica Rivera to Helsingor, to Denmark.

Later that evening, the Australian-born royal and her husband attended a formal state banquet at Fredensborg Castle, to officially welcome the Mexican President and the first lady.

To honour Queen Margrethe II on her 76th birthday, Enrique Peña Nieto stood to deliver a message of praise in a touching speech.

Princess Mary donned a stunning recycled Jesper Hovring gown for the formal gala dinner, along with her favourite new tiara – which happens to be fashioned from an old necklace!

“Denmark is an advanced country led by a great woman: Her Majesty Queen Margrethe II,” he said in his native tongue.

“Thanks to your political vision and sensibility, the Danish people rally around you and have respect [for you]. The people recognise their [the monarchy’s] intellectual background, artistic talent and their willingness to help Danes.

The Spaniard continued, “Their international leadership and ability to bring the Danish people together is recognised throughout the world.”

Donning a chic ombre coat, the brunette beauty stood with her handsome beau, Frederik, Crown Prince of Denmark as they welcomed the couple.

The Danish monarch celebrates her day of birth just days before Queen Elizabeth II turns 90.

“That is an extraordinary occasion, isn’t it?” Queen Margrethe said to the Telegraph of the British monarch, who is her long-term friend.

“She’s wonderful. I really admire the way she has lived her life, the way she continues to live her life. She’s so dedicated and she has a marvellous sense of humour.”

“I’m lucky enough to know her privately and I do enjoy that sense of humour.”

Victoria Police released a statement this morning saying Mr Cronin had died last night, but later retracted it. He still remains on life support in hospital.

According to reports, Patrick was king-hit around 11pm when he jumped in to drag his friend out of the fight. It is believed up to 30 people were involved in the brawl.

Patrick and his friends walked back to a house, but two hours after the fight, paramedics were called after he collapsed.

He was taken to Royal Melbourne Hospital where he was in a critical condition.

The incident is being investigated by homicide detectives.

“Patrick’s never been in a fight in his life. He’s not that kind of kid,” Lower Plenty Football Club president Grant Barden said.

“He’s tried to drag his friend out of the fight, but then someone’s come up behind him. We heard he was king-hit. That’s all we know.”
