Trick your body into losing weight

Want to know why you can't shift those kilos?
feast

A new study has revealed that our subconscious may be the thing that’s preventing us from being the weight that we want reports news.com.au.

Food behaviour specialist, Brian Wansink, has assessed tens of thousands of eaters to get an understanding of how people make food decisions.

By wiring subjects up to tracking devices, secretly monitoring them and analysing their fridges, bins and trolleys, Dr Wansink has been able to gain a comprehensive insight into eating habits.

By understanding the choices we make, Dr Wansink has also been able to work out the behaviours that affect our food choices and subconsciously keep our weight either up or down.

Apparently the height of your wine glass affects how much you pour into it, and swapping your bucket of wine to a champagne flute could cut consumption by 10 per cent.

If you eat loads after a work-out and undo all of your hard work, naming your workout may help. Telling yourself you’re taking a scenic walk, or partaking in strengthening or toning exercises may change your mindset and help you grab a healthy snack to recover rather than eating a horse for protein.

Everyone has fallen into the trap of shopping on an empty stomach, but unhealthy cravings can kick in at any time. Chew on a piece of minty gum to short-circuit the cravings. Also, studies have shown that fruit and vegetables look more appealing in an empty trolley, so shop from the produce section first and fill your trolley with fresh vibrant food. Then go to the healthier aisles directly rather than amble up each tempting aisle. Theoretically, by the time you hit the junk food, you’ll be over shopping and ready to get out of there.

Well lit seating in restaurants can affect your choice as can whether you face the buffet or not. Slim people eat differently from a buffet than overweight people so your hardwiring (and plate size) may be the way to finally change your habits to get the physique you want.

Chrissy Teigen and John Legend debut daughter!

The first photo of Chrissy Tiegen and John Legend's baby girl is here, and it is ADORABLE!
Chrissy Teigen John Legend

Earlier this week, model mama Chrissy Teigen and her handsome hubby John Legend announced the arrival of their darling girl with an adorable shot of her new bubs birth chart, which revealed she was born last Thursday, April 14.

But now, for the first time since her precious arrival, Chrissy has shared little Lulu with the world, and we are not coping with the cuteness!

Baby Legend has landed!

“Hi my Lulu!” the joyous mum captioned the pic of her cradling her bundle of joy.

And it seems that motherhood suits the Cravingscookbook author, who beamed down at the bub with a smile of content as she sat on her deck looking fresh faced and relaxed.

And while John and Chrissy are now knee deep in nappies and “very sleepy” indeed, a source tells E! Online that the couple are “natural parents”.

“John and Chrissy are in such a joyful place with their healthy baby girl Luna,” the source close to Chrissy told the US publication. “They are surrounded by family and close friends. Chrissy and John can’t stop gushing over Luna. She is perfect!”

“Luna looks like a mini Chrissy and has some of John’s features. Luna has cute round cheeks and looks like a baby model already,” the insider said of the bubs no doubt adorable little face.

“This is the best time in their lives,” the source went on. “They are natural parents. They look at Luna as a blessing cause it was not an easy road having a baby. John sings to Luna all the time. This whole experience is stirring up some new music for John. Luna is an inspiration to them both.”

The adorable way Chrissy and John announced their new arrival.

John and Chrissy decided to reveal their daughter’s arrival a few days after her actual birthday on April 14th.

“She’s here! Luna Simone Stephens, we are so in love with you! And sleepy. Very sleepy,” Chrissy penned in her trademark hilarious style to her Instagram followers.

While John added via Twitter: “Our new love is here! Luna Simone Stephens, born on Thursday, the 14th. We couldn’t be happier!”

Indeed after much baby name speculation, the couple’s daughter’s name was finally revealed as Luna Simone Stephens – Stephens is John’s real surname.

The precious bundle of joy born is the couple’s first child together, but we’re guessing it certainly won’t be the last.

Both Chrissy and John have expressed their excitement for a big family in the past, with Chrissy saying to Huffington Post in 2014, “Hopefully we’ll just have this Angelina-Brad-type brood. I would love that.”

“I definitely want a lot of kids, and he does as well.”

“John and I are so happy to announce that we are pregnant 🙂 As many of you know, we’ve been trying to have a baby for a while now,” the expectant mum penned to her 5.6 million followers.

“It hasn’t been easy, but we kept trying because we can’t wait to bring our first child into the world and grow our family. We’re so excited that it’s finally happening.”

“Thank you for all your love and well wishes. I look forward to all the belly touching!”

Congratulations, John and Chrissy. She’s beautiful!

“Supply of this batch of product has been temporarily suspended while we work closely with three of our Queensland suppliers to ensure we are receiving the best-quality produce,” a Woolworths spokesperson said.

“We are currently in contact with customers who have brought concerns to our attention.”

The spokesperson added that broccoli supplies would not be affected as the retailer has a number of other suppliers.

Tara Brown: It looks worse than it was

TV presenter Tara Brown has spoken out about life inside the squalid Beirut prison she now calls home.

The 60 Minutes reporter has spoken out about life since she was jailed in the Middle Eastern country two weeks ago.

Brown is putting a brave face on her current predicament, saying she was being treated “extremely well” and that the women in the prison were “generous and kind”.

Brown and co-accused Sally Faulkner, the mother of children at the centre of the bungled “child recovery” attempt, even told News Limited that photos of them handcuffed and apparently being manhandled by police outside a Beirut court “looked much worse than it was”.

Brown insisted their armed escorts were simply trying to protect them from the media scrum, while Faulkner added: “We were laughing in the car, all we wanted to do was not get her photo taken.”

Brown and her 60 Minutes crew members were arrested and charged with kidnapping on April 7 over an attempt to abduct Faulkner’s children Lahela, five, and Noah, three, who have been living in Lebanon with their father since he took them on “holiday” to the country and never returned them to Australia.

The children’s father Ali Elamine has said he will press charge against anyone involved and the judge has said none of the accused should expect leniency.

Jake Gyllenhaal joins Boston bomb survivor Jeff Bauman as they pitch for the Red Sox

Hitting a home run straight to our hearts, the Hollywood star gave Jeff and his baby girl a heroes welcome at the American baseball game.
Jake Gyllenhaal and Jeff Bauman

Jake joined the Boston Marathon bombings survivor, Jeff Bauman, to help him throw out the first pitch at the Red Sox vs. Blue Jays game at Fenway Park, on Monday.

Despite the horrific tragedy that brought them to the sports grounds, the pair were all smiles as they donned personalised jerseys.

Chatting with team, Jake even held held the survivor’s 20-month-old daughter, Nora, and carried her around the field.

See the touching moment in the video player below! Post continues…

The pair became firm friends after the actor was cast as Jeff in the upcoming film adaptation of his memoir, Stronger.

During the horrific attacks, he watching his girlfriend, Erin Hurley, run the 2013 marathon. Following the two blasts, Jefff lost the lower portions of his legs.

The book details how he regained his life, which saw him face multiple surgeries and the need to learn how to walk again with the help of prosthetics

Now three years on, Jeff and Erin are married and are the proud parents to little Nora.

The duo had their very own jerseys.

Jake cradles baby Nora.

Much like the book, the film, which is directed by David Gordon Green, does not focus on the bombing, but instead details Jeff’s recovery, who helped identify the bombers, the Tsarnaev brothers, from his hospital bed.

According to his book, Jeff explained that he regained consciousness 30 hours after the attack but was unable to speak.

He motioned for a pad and paper, and when it was brought to him, he wrote: “Saw the guy. Looked right at me”

Filming Jeff’s story has been an honour for Jake.

Producer Todd Lieberman describes the film as, “an unlikely path toward a love story, and healing and recovery and acceptance of being deemed a hero when he didn’t believe in himself.”

Speaking at the Boston Medical Center’s 2016 Boston Marathon dinner on Sunday night, Jake opened up about the role.

“I am getting a lot of pressure to play this part,” he admitted. “But I love that pressure. I love this city.”

Adding, “Jeff is basically a triumph in just this unspeakable situation.”
