Mass recall on Blue Ribbon ice cream

The recall is affecting tubs of all flavours.

Unilever have issued a massive recall of the 1.25 and 2-litre Blue Ribbon ice cream tubs across the country due to cases of plastic pieces being found in the product and a potential of injury.

The recall is affecting all flavours.

Affected tubs have a best-before date between April 28, 2017 and April 27, 2018, and are strongly advised by the company to not be eaten. Ice cream before this date is completely fine.

The company wrote in a statement that it’s purely a ‘precautionary measure’.

All products should be taken back to the place where it was bought for a full refund.

There’s a new addition to the British Royal Family

Is that the pitter patter of tiny feet?

The British Royal Family have introduced a new addition to their family.

A hamster!

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge bought their two gorgeous children George and Charlotte a little pet hamster to join their family.

The furry friend named Marvin (how cute!) joins their friendly dog Lupo.

Duchess Kate opened up about the fluffy animal while at the opening of the Magic Garden at Hampton Court Palace in London yesterday.

A young girl named Darcey told the Daily Telegraph: “She said she had a hamster, and Charlotte really likes it because the whiskers always tickle her face.”

The 34-year-old royal told the children there that Marvin stays at Anmer Hall, their home in Norfolk with Lupo.

There are no publicly know details as to why the family named the pet Marvin, but it’s believed the little hamster may have been named after George’s favourite book ‘Marvin Wanted More’ about a greedy sheep.

This could mean cheaper prices at Woolies

The supermarket giant has announced a major overhaul

While Woolworths’ sales have continued to decline, their misery could spell big wins for customers.

The supermarket giant has announced a major overhaul, promising unbeatable prices on groceries, better special offers and a more local approach to store management.

Woolies say that prices will keep getting lower across the board, especially food prices where the margins allow for greater cuts.

Another focus will be to improve communication. It looks like Coles’ “down down” campaign has convinced customers that they are the cheapest, and with Aldi trading on its cut-price overseas brands, Woolworths will be making very sure you know where its top offers are.

This means that you can expect to see lots more adverts and end-of-aisle displays.

Woolworths also want to make each store more relevant to the local people that shop there.

‘Retail Doctor’ Brian Walker told News.com.au that Woolworths is trying to compete at a local community level rather than “one size fits all.”

“A lot of consumers are moving away from one big shop a week to ‘basket shopping’. They visit two or three times a week to top up,” he said.

This means supermarket giants can’t rely on just having a wide, cheap range. They also need to compete with small local stores on quality and range.

Woolies also plan to revamp its discount department store Big W, which is down 4.5 per cent on last year’s first quarter.

“Kmart’s turnaround showed that what a discount department store can offer is about value. It went from doing a little bit of everything to being very strong on pricing and volume,” Walker explained.

Customers can expect to see Big W focusing on strength in key categories, as Kmart has with apparel.

Despite Woolworth’s run of bad luck, chief executive Brad Banducci says that the supermarket will be back.

“It will be a three to five year journey to rebuild Woolworth’s supermarkets, but we are confident we are on the right track.”

This picture may confirm that Jackie and Tim have a baby on the way.

Looks like there could be ANOTHER baby out of Seven Year Switch!

Despite major tensions between Jackie and her partner Tim recently, it seem the couple are well and truly on and might even have a baby on the way.

This week Jackie said her and Tim were ‘over’ after learning that the matching tattoos of Tim and Tallena were actually real, but this photo could prove that the couple have made up.

Someone spotted the two at the Fitness & Health Expo in Melbourne over the weekend and shared this photo of the smiling couple.

Jackie is wearing a fitted black shirt and is sporting what could possibly be a baby bump.

Tim and Jackie have been a rollercoaster this season of the show, with Tim and his experimental partner sleeping in the same bed and jumping in the spa together.

This will be the second baby to come from the series, with Cassie expecting a child too!

Seven has been contacted for comment.

Sydney woman in court after $4.6 million was ‘wrongly transferred’ into account

The student was given $4.6m in an extraordinary Westpac overdraft error.

UPDATE: The young woman that was intercepted at Sydney airport last night accused of dishonestly obtaining financial advantage has appeared in court.

But the magistrate says that 21-year-old Christine Jiaxin Lee may not have broken the law.

According to the police allegations, Lee opened a statement account one month before her 18th birthday in August 2012.

Westpac accidentally gave her credit on the account in the form of an unlimited overdraft.

Between July 2014 and April 2015, Lee allegedly overdrew on numerous occasions, totalling $4,653,333.02.

Her Legal Aid lawyer Fiona McCarron told the court that approximately $1 million had been spent on handbags, luxury items and some transfers.

About $3.3 million remains outstanding.

She said the police would have difficulties proving the spending was illegal, to which Stapleton agreed.

“She didn’t take it from them. They gave it to her,” Stapleton said

Stapleton has now granted Lee bail, saying it appeared Westpac inadvertently gave her an unlimited overdraw facility and so she used it.

“It isn’t proceeds of crime. It’s money we all dream of,” she said.

A young woman from Sydney has appeared in court accused of dishonestly obtaining financial advantage by deception after $4.6 million was accidentally transferred into her bank account.

The 21-year-old from Rhodes, in Sydney, was intercepted by federal police at Sydney airport when she tried to board a flight to Malaysia.

The woman was then taken to Mascot police station where she was charged with dishonestly obtaining financial advantage by deception, and knowingly dealing with the proceeds of crime.

Police allege that $4.6 million was accidently transferred to the young woman’s bank account in 2012, when she was just 17 years old. Four years later, she still hadn’t returned the cash.

A NSW Police spokeswoman told News.com.au that the Sydney City Local Area Command’s CBD fraud unit began investigating the money transfer at the time of the incorrect transfer, and a warrant for the woman’s arrest was granted in March this year.

She was refused bail to appear in Waverley Local Court today.
