Joan Collins: I have finally found Mr Right

She admits she’s kissed a lot of frogs, but Joan Collins has finally found true love.

She’s been divorced four times and dated more scoundrels than she cares to remember, but at 82, Joan Collins is finally happy.

She first met her fifth – and she hopes final – husband Percy Gibson in 2002, when he was married to another woman.

They quickly fell in love, despite Percy being 32 years younger than his new leading lady, and married soon afterwards.

“I kissed a lot of frogs before I found my Mr Right,” the Dynasty icon tells the June issue of The Australian Women’s Weekly. “He is great in every respect and we have a great relationship. I’m not saying we don’t bicker or we totally agree about everything, but we are with each other 24 hours a day.”

Joan and Percy

After a long life well lived, Joan also has a theory about why so many marriages fail.

“Love is almost a luxury for a lot of people,” she says. “The reason most people get married is that they fall in lust and once that wears off, they look at each other and think, ‘What the f–k have I done?’”

Sonia Kruger: Why I want another baby at 50

She’s 51 in August, but Sonia Kruger would dearly love to have another child.

Sonia Kruger always knew she wanted to have children but, like many women these days, didn’t get around to it until she was in her 40s.

She assumed IVF would solve all her fertility problems, so was floored when, at 45, her doctor told her she had zero chance of conceiving with her own eggs.

Fortunately, a close friend donated an egg and at the age of 49, Sonia gave birth to daughter Maggie.

“It’s been such a joy for me,” she tells the June issue of The Australian Women’s Weekly. “I’m just so happy.”

Sonia admits motherhood has been difficult, but she would love to do it all again, even though she is, at 50, much older than the average mother.

“I would love to,” she says. “But I really feel like I shouldn’t push my luck!”

And it seems the glamorous star can do no wrong when it comes to fashion. She wowed fans and onlookers with not one but two amazing outfits, each proudly displaying her growing tummy.

For the premiere of her new film Cafe Society with director Woody Allen, the former Gossip Girl star sported a sparkling silver number that harked back to the golden age of Hollywood.

The figure-hugging gown made no effort to hide her little baby on board.

The mother of one complimented the vintage-inspired look with loose hair waves and strappy sandal heels.

Everyone was excited to see Blake’s bump! Here the starlet poses with Woody Allen and Cory Stoll.

At a photo call for the film with her co-star Kristen Stewart, the 28-year-old had slipped into something a little more comfortable but no less stunning.

Her sexy red jumpsuit gave fans a sneaky peek at the bump, below pieces of flowing fabric.

The clever number also gave the illusion that she was wearing a dress, depending on which way she posed.

Blake, pictured with Woody and Kristen, couldn’t stop smiling!

Onlookers say the mother-to-be hasn’t been able to contain her joy at finally showing off her big news to the world, smiling from ear-to-ear at every event.

While this isn’t the first time the star has walked the red carpet since news broke of her second pregnancy to husband Ryan Reynolds in April (she attended the Met Gala early May), it’s the first time she’s allowed the public to glimpse her ever-growing bump.

See all the news about baby No. 2 for Blake and Ryan! Post continues below.

How to speed clean your whole house in an hour

If you are time poor, then you probably don’t want to spend the whole weekend cleaning.

Let’s face it, we are all busy. Life is 100km an hour and the majority of us cram as much as we can into our day.

Between work, children, exercising and socialising there might not be a huge amount of time left over for house work.

If you are time poor, then you probably don’t want to spend the whole weekend cleaning. Yes, we all love living in a clean and tidy house, but it’s probably fair to say that the most of us don’t love the actual cleaning.

So what if I told you that you could speed clean your entire house in an hour?

I spoke to Kat Springer, the Organised Housewife to find out how.

“Speed cleaning is all about what you can see at a glance,” she says.

“So forget lifting the couch cushions and vacuuming underneath, or scrubbing the oven, focus on the areas that you can easily see and touch.”

Before you start Kat recommends getting in the mood.

“Put on some great music,” she says.

“This will help you to work faster because you’ll be skipping along to the beat of the music.”

Kat also recommends putting on your gym clothes. This is a great way to trick your body into serious action.

“I find I can be a little slow and lazy when in track pants,” explains Kat.

As speed is the name of the game, Kat suggests getting yourself organised by creating a cleaning kit that you can carry around the house as you go.

“If you have your cleaning kit on hand you will have everything you need to clean, this will save loads of time,” she explains.

Kat notes that it’s a good idea to begin in the bathroom.

“Start in the shower and loo, allowing your cleaning product to sit and soak while you clean the rest of the house,” she says.

Another great tip is to carry an empty box or washing basket around with you. Put anything that doesn’t belong in the room into the box.

Then rather than wasting time moving from room to room putting things away you can spend ten minutes at the end putting things back where they belong.

And of course, you should outsource some of the cleaning to the rest of the family.

Perhaps you can make a list of rooms that need cleaning and divide them with your partner or house mates. And if you have kids you should definitely get them on board.

“Have your kid’s help you as much as possible. For example, before you start cleaning ask the kids to make their beds and put their toys away.”

If your kids are older enough to pitch in, you can give them more responsibility – perhaps vacuuming or mopping.

Any final tips from Kat?

“Don’t use a duster as this spreads the dust,” she says.

“Use a microfibre cloth to remove it on the first swipe.”

Mag offers ‘figure flattering’ swimsuit advice to eight year olds

Why would a magazine for very young girls be dishing out swimwear tips based on body type?

Discovery Girls, a magazine aimed at tween girls ages 8 and up, has come under fire from angry parents after it offered some totally unnecessary advice to young girls about what swimsuits would flatter their figures best.

The fashion spread basically divided girls into four categories based on their “body types” and dished out tips. Girls who were ‘curvy up top’ were told to try a full-piece with ‘side ties and cutouts that draw the eyes down,’ – which makes us wonder whose “eyes”?! Whose eyes being drawn to little girls in bathing suits need to be distracted down?!

Punters took to twitter to voice their anger:

@taffyakner wrote, “Hey @DiscoveryGirls, why not include diet tips/surgical options with this? Your readers are 9, after all. Tick tock.”

And @rhiannonlucyc commented, “Weeping for my future daughters. This mag @discoverygirls is for girls 8+”.

So why would a magazine for very young girls be dishing out advice based on body type? Well not even the magazine’s publisher is sure why.

Discovery Girls’ publisher, Catherine Lee issued a lengthy open letter on Facebookaddressing the article and said she wasn’t sure who gave the final OK to an article like this.

“It’s still hard for me to believe that an article so contrary to our magazine’s mission could have been published on our pages,” wrote Lee.

She also said the initial idea was to showcase “cute, fun swimsuits that make girls feel confident,” but even that might not have been right for 8-year-olds because the kind of swimmers a kid that age that should be in should just be the one she likes, regardless of “body type”.

Judge bans QLD woman from using Facebook

A Queensland woman has been forbidden from using any social media by a judge after she posted nude photos of another woman on Facebook.

A Queensland woman has been forbidden from using any social media by a judge after she posted nude photos of another woman on Facebook.

Courtney Marie Mulkentine, 19, of Gympie, pleaded guilty to using an electronic carriage service to harass or offend on January 26, reports the Gympie Times.

The court heard that Mulkentine had been sent the lewd photos by the other woman’s ex boyfriend and only took the pictures down after the victim called and confronted her.

According to reports, Magistrate M Baldwin said that the issue of cyber bullying was serious and could prompt self-harm and suicide.

“If you want to use social media, you do it responsibly,” she said.

“What would you do if the girl had gone and killed herself? We don’t know what else is going on in her life (that may have led to a crisis for the victim).”

Mulkentine was placed on six months probation, with a condition that she was not to use Snapchat, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and any other social platform “some geek comes up with”.

“Don’t try to use another account or a false name,” said the judge. “Someone will dob you.”

Ms Baldwin added: “It might be the best six months of your life. You won’t have to look at your phone every five minutes.”

The verdict will no doubt please those who advocate for victims of cyberbullying.

According to Queensland Government 91 per cent of Australian teens age 14-17 get on the Internet at least once a week, mainly to check social media sites like Facebook.

Of those who reported being bullied, 83 per cent said they were cyberbullied by people that they not only knew personally, but who they considered to be their friends.

These statistics further add to evidence that cyberbullying is extremely dangerous to the mental health of young people who may fall victim to long term mental suffering, as well as suicidal thoughts and actions.

Expert casts doubt over teen’s Mayan city ‘discovery’

Canadian boy's Mayan city find might just be a mistake.

An expert has called 15-year-old William Gadoury’s claims about discovering a Mayan city ‘junk science’.

Earlier this week the Canadian teen made headlines when he said he happened upon an ancient Mayan site deep inside the Yucatán forest using nothing more than Google Maps, ancient Central American star charts and satellite images he had requested from the Canadian Space Agency.

William’s theorized correlations between the stars and the location of Mayan cities appeared to be supported by satellite imagery and the youngster was on his way to solidifying himself as a digital-Indiana-Jones-type until he drew skepticism from famed anthropologist, David Stuart.

Stuart, who was himself a Mesoamerican child prodigy after he interpreted a syllable in the Mayan language that had stumped researchers before him at just 15, has dismissed the Quebec boy’s find as “false” and called out experts who went to the press before checking his claims.

Dr Stuart took to Facebook to say after trying to ignore the claims, once the news made it to the BBC he felt it was time to say the science behind the find was bogus.

“The whole thing is a mess – a terrible example of junk science hitting the internet in free-fall,” said Dr Stuart who is the David and Linda Schele Professor of Mesoamerican Art and Writing at the University of Texas at Austin.

“The ancient Maya didn’t plot their ancient cities according to constellations. Seeing such patterns is a Rorschach process, since sites are everywhere, and so are stars.”

While it was claimed Gadoury’s find was a “city” – a site containing a pyramid and about 30 other structures, which the teen named ‘K’aak Chi’ or Mayan for ‘Mouth of Fire’ – Stuart says it’s something far less exciting.

“The square feature that was found on Google Earth is indeed man-made, but it’s an old fallow cornfield, or milpa,” he said.

Dr Stuart said that William was not the blame for the inaccuracies, saying he was “clearly smart and enthusiastic about archaeology and the Maya,” and it was the experts who should be more cautious.

“What steams me most here is the irresponsibility of ‘experts’ who sought the media exposure,” he said on his Facebook page.

Woman in her 70s becomes world’s oldest mum

An Indian couple both in their 70s who have been married for 46 years have welcomed a baby boy.

A married Indian couple have welcomed to the world a healthy baby boy, Arman.

It was the first child for the 72-year-old woman Daljinder Kaur and her 79-year-old husband Mohinder Singh Gill.

Mrs Kaur went through multiple rounds of IVF for the miracle baby and gave birth by caesarean section last month. Little Arman weighed in at just 2kg.

She gave birth at the National Fertility Centre in Haryana, a facility that offers fertility treatment to women after menopause.

While Daljinder’s exact birth date is unknown to her, she says she is seven years younger than her husband, making her the world’s oldest mum.

Both farmers from Amritsar in Punjab, she and her husband had given up hope of having a child of their own and viewed it as a holy curse that they could never conceive.

She told the UK Telegraph: “Everyone asked me to adopt a baby but I never wanted to. Now I have my own child.”

Russell Crowe is just a gladiator looking for love

He’s Australia’s resident tough guy, but deep down, Rusty is just a man wanting to find The One.
Russell Crowe

Russell Crowe famously mused “I didn’t get married to get divorced!”, and now it seems he is ready to put a ring back on his finger.

This week the actor, who just celebrated his 52nd birthday (on Jimmy Fallon’s talk show no less), will feature in The Sunday Telegraph‘s Sunday Style magazine.

According to the glossy weekend mag, the Kiwi-born star will candidly discuss “how fatherhood has changed his life, and why, after four years, he’s finally looking for love again.”

Russell was married to his wife Danielle for nearly a decade.

Who that love may be is currently uncertain.

Of course, Russell’s most prolific relationship was with Aussie actress and singer, Danielle Spencer.

The couple were married for nine years before parting ways in 2012.

Despite their split, the duo have remained close for the sake of their two boys, Tennyson, nine, and Charles, 12.

Watch Russell surprise Danielle on Dancing With The Stars back in 2012 in the player below. Post continues…

In fact for some time, many believed the pair would reconcile, with the former bad boy regularly citing his love and admiration for the mother of his kids.

“Technically we’re married. We are separated and discussing what that means,” the actor admitted to News.com.au just a year ago.

Around the same time, the pretty blonde echoed her former beau’s comments, telling The Telegraph that, “Obviously, I want to be on the best of terms with Russell.”

“We have kids together; we’ve been friends since we’ve been teenagers.”

The most telling comment came when she described the nature of their relationship, admitting, “We’ve been on and off and in and out of each of other’s lives for a very long time.”

Danielle and Rusty called time on their marriage in 2012.

If that’s not enough to sway you into thinking Rusty wanted to get back with his ex, then his chat with the UK’s Sunday Times, may provide a bit more insight into the brooding footy club owner.

“Once I commit to something, I stick with it, so you never know… I’ve loved Danielle Spencer since 1989; that’s never going to change.”

He may have loved the 46-year-old for the better part of two decades, but that hasn’t stopped The Good Guys heartthrob from enjoying the company of many other A-list ladies.

Over the years, the Oscar winner has been linked to everyone from burlesque beauty Dita Von Teese, actress Kim Basinger, Jennifer Connelly, local star Peta Wilson, Heather Graham and even Nicole Kidman!

He’s a man with a type… Peta Wilson, Heather Graham and Kim Basinger have all been linked to the star.

But brunettes Jennifer Connelly and Dita Von Teese also get an honourable mention!

As he gears up to star in the new Mummy revival beside Nic’s ex Tom Cruise, Russell joked to ET things may be a little awkward.

“I was really good friends with Tom from probably about ’92 or so until he got divorced,” he said.

Before showcasing his trademark humour, “When he got divorced, I was part of Nicole [Kidman]’s settlement and so we didn’t see each other.”

“Just friends” is Rusty’s favourite saying, especially when it comes to Nicole Kidman.

But it was Russell’s penchant for blondes that really had him smitten.

Who could ever forget the one before the one (aka his marriage to Danielle).

Yes, we’re talking about ’90s sweetheart, Meg Ryan, whom he dated from 1999-2001.

Clearly a delightful ex, following their split, Russell went on record saying, “Meg Ryan is a beautiful and courageous woman.”

The way we were… Now this was a Hollywood romance for the ages.

“I grieve the loss of her companionship but I’ve not lost the friendship. We talk all the time and that was what our connection was about. She has a wonderful mind and we just like a chat.”

With an attitude like that, it’s no surprise someone would want to snatch Russell up.

Most recently, he was linked to Julie Burgess, who is the mum of NRL players Sam, George, Tom and Luke – but both are adamant they’re just friends.

Russell Crowe and Julie Burgess

Rusty with another mate, Julie Burgess.

Not helping her stance on the matter, Julie did tell the UK media, “Russell loves being part of our family; he likes to look after us!”

After four years he may be a little rusty, but he’s funny, adored by millions and an all-round a pretty good bloke – we think Russell Crowe is more than ready to dive back into the romance pool.

Russell was immortalised in Sex and the City when Carrie and Miranda revealed that Mr Crowe was king of their fantasies.
