River mum speaks: ‘I see him yelling out for help’

“I tried to close my eyes last night and all I could see was him … wanting to get out, yelling out for help.”

The mother of a four-year-old boy who drowned when his father’s car slipped into a river has opened up about her torment.

Bentley Hilton died on Sunday afternoon after the ute he was sitting in slipped down a Hawkesbury River boat ramp and got swept away by a fast-flowing current.

His mother Lauren Hilton, who is separated from Bentley’s father and hadn’t seen her little boy since Mother’s Day, says she can’t stop reliving the horrific tragedy in her head.

“I tried to close my eyes last night and all I could see was him … wanting to get out, yelling out for help,” she told Nine News.

“When I found out, I was just so upset … I just broke down in tears, there was nothing more I could say. I loved him from the first time I met him.”

Bentley was strapped into his car seat in his dad’s ute while his dad and grandfather attempted to unhitch their tinnie when the car started sliding into the water.

Both men desperately tried to save the boy, but the car was completely submerged within seconds and dragged downstream where police divers eventually located it after a four-hour search.

The car Bentley was pulled from.

“The one thing that we know is that hatred and bigotry has to be taught,” he explained.

“We aren’t born this way… and the fact that Pope Francis and all of you are involving people at such a young age in the schools, the idea that inclusion is the only way we’re gonna make it, that to me is what is so spectacular about what you all are doing.”

George was clearly thrilled with meeting the pontiff!

Amal looked on proudly as her husband addressed the crowd.

Fellow celebrities Salma Hayek and Richard Gere were also in attendance. All three stars are ambassadors for the ambitious project.

Salma and Richard were also similarly honoured for their work with the worthy cause.

Salma Hayek was thrilled to be honoured alongside longtime friend George.

Richard was all smiles as he later shook hands with Pope Francis.

Amal, 38, looked stunning in a chic, clack Atelier Versace lace gown with three-quarter sleeves and satin detail, paired back with a silk Versace hat. George, 55, looked dapper in a grey suit and button down top.

The pair have spent most of their time at George’s Lake Como property since arriving in Italy, and were recently seen dining with friends at a local restaurant Dal Bolognaise, overlooking Rome’s Piazza del Puopolo.

Samantha Armytage injured after dog attack

But it could have been so much worse...
Samantha Armytage

Mondays are bad enough, but it looks like Samantha Armytage has has a really rotten start to the week.

The Sunrise host was on an afternoon walk when she was attacked by a dog in the street.

Samantha revealed the snap of a large plaster on social media, telling followers she had just come out of hospital from getting injections to prevent infection.

“And that’s a wrap on an afternoon I’d rather forget,” the 38-year-old posted.

Sam sported a sizable injury after fending off the dog attack.

“One Doberman attack, one police station visit, one tetanus shot (with added whooping cough booster), antibiotics = very stressful hours!”

Sam’s shock at the attack soon turned to anger as she complained about the dog even being able to be near the public in the first place.

Pets usually love the bubbly TV host.

“IF YOU HAVE AN AGGRESSIVE BREED OF DOG,” she wrote, “KEEP IT AWAY FROM THE PUBLIC.”

“This could have been so much worse,” she continued, explaining there had been a toddler walking just near her when the dog attacked.

“Thank god it was me and not him,” the presenter said.

The Sunrise host copped backlash for accusing all Dobermans of being aggressive.

Some of her followers jumped on the blonde for calling a Doberman an aggressive breed in the first place.

“Blame the owners, blame the individual dog, but not fair to put all dogs from a breed into the category of ‘dangerous’ because of one, the follower wrote.

“ALL breeds have the potential to be aggressive,” said another. “It’s the owner’s responsibility to be aware of their dog’s nature.”

But the TV host would have none of it.

Check out Sam’s chatting about the ups and downs of her career on Sunrise. Post continues…

“Dobermans are an aggressive breed,” Samantha hit back. “The owner said this dog had ‘never done this before”…Well it did today. And it could have been a child’s face.

“So don’t you start with me today mate disputing the aggressive breeds, because I’m not in the mood to be polite.”

You tell ’em, Sam!

Inside Prince Oscar of Sweden’s christening

Friday the 27th of May marked a particularly joyous occasion for the Swedish royal family.
Swedish Royal Family

Friday the 27th of May marked a particularly joyous occasion for the Swedish royal family.

The Christening of sweet little Oscar Carl Olof, held in the royal chapel of Stockholm, brought together the whole family, making the already special day a royal affair to remember.

Of course, the pint-sized Prince was the little man of the moment as he tried to stay awake cradled by his mother, Crown Princess Victoria.

They were joined by the new mum’s husband, Prince Daniel, and their first daughter Princess Estelle, who celebrated her fourth birthday earlier this year.

As the family arrived, including our favourite Australian royal Princess Mary and her husband Prince Frederik – who was given the honour of godfather – little Oscar nodded off wearing the traditional christening gown that his sister, mother and other family members have worn before him.

Click through the gallery to see the day’s highlights!

The 38-year-old mother-of-two went matchy-matchy with her new bub in her own white lace dress.

Princess Mary rocked a monochrome frock and statement hat to wish the little one well.

Too sweet! Little Estelle was her mother’s mini-me, also in a white gown with white fascinator pinned to her blonde locks.

Handsome Prince Carl Phillip of Sweden was accompanied by his wife Princess Sofia, but their newborn son Prince Alexander stayed home.

The proud parents stood with their little one surrounded by family, flanked by Godparents Crown Princess Mette-Marit and Prince Frederik, who gave readings at the ceremony.

A happy little family!

Queen Silvia and King Carl Gustaf of Sweden were overjoyed to spend the day honouring the new arrival.

Like mother, like daughter! Princess Leonore looks more like her mum Princess Madeleine every day.

Melting! Princess Leonore, two, daughter of Princess Madeleine, and Princess Estelle, four, daughter of Crown Princess Victoria already seem to be the best of friends!
