Married At First Sight’s Clare: My battle with PTSD

Married at First Sight’s Clare Verrall has opened up about her struggles with weight gain caused by Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.

The 32-year-old uploaded a picture of herself on Instagram and a fan commented on it saying she appeared to have lost weight.

However, the reality star revealed the picture is in fact old and that she’s currently “the heaviest I’ve ever been.”

“Post filming me [sic] PTSD came back full force, my thyroid tanked out & I had to be put on some yucky meds so I’m the heaviest I have ever been,” she continued.

“Good news is once my wrist is better & I can start training again then I’ll be back on track. Weight is just a number though. People may treat you differently, but you are the same human inside,” she concluded.

In the comments section, she went on to explain her health issues.

“I have hypothyroidism, so if I’m not training 6 days a week & 100% on point with my diet & can literally gain 8kgs in a weekend. It’s basically a crap superpower,” she explained.

It is due to an attack in Melbourne – where her nose was broken and her life was threatened – that left Clare suffering from PTSD.

Johnny Depp breaks his silence on Amber Heard divorce

Amber Heard's actor beau has spoken out confirming the sad news, just three days after she alledgedly filed for divorce.

In a statement to People magazine, Johnny’s representatives explained the “brevity” of his 15-month marriage to Amber, while also adressing the recent death of his mother.

“Given the brevity of this marriage and the most recent and tragic loss of his mother, Johnny will not respond to any of the salacious false stories, gossip, misinformation and lies about his personal life,” the statement read.

“Hopefully the dissolution of this short marriage will be resolved quickly.”

TMZ revealed the shocking news that after just 15 months of marriage the actress filed for divorce from the 52-year-old.

Amber filed the paper work just three days after Johnny’s mother’s death.

The news outlet claim the star cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for the split and is requesting spousal support. The website also alleges the stars did not sign a prenup, meaning Amber could be entitled to a stake of Johnny’s reported $USD400 million fortune.

The couple were once the picture of a loving husband and wife.

Now reports suggest that the 30-year-old blonde superstar may have had reservations from the beginning!

It’s been revealed that there may have been numerous hurdles to the couples’ romance, with one of the biggest allegations is that Johnny’s family were not Amber’s biggest fans… at all.

The relationship between his siblings, children, his mother and Amber was reportedly extremely bitter, and the group were in the middle of an explosive feud in the months before the shock split, according to TMZ.

The Alice Through The Looking Glass actor and his wife moved into his mother’s compound earlier this year, and that’s apparently when the fireworks started.

One of their last outings together at the Art Of Elysium’s 9th Annual Heaven Gala in LA.

No doubt things may get very messy.

New claims suggest that this will already be an acrimonious divorce, with the Pirates of the Caribbean star seeking to deny Amber any spousal support.

It’s reported that Johnny told the judge the pair did not have a prenup in place.

It’s a photo of a couple hugging. But it’s left people very confused

Our brains hurt just looking at this.

This photo looks innocent enough with two people hugging, right?

Scroll down for video

But you’re guaranteed to do a double-take when you look at their legs – because something just doesn’t add up!

The mind-boggling photo from Imgur has been confusing people all over the internet as they try to figure out who is in front and who is behind.

It’s so confusing it’s hurting our brain but one eagle-eyed Imgur user had the solution: “His shorts are two colors. White in the middle, black on the outside.”

Even with this outline of the shorts, we have to say we’re still wigged out about it – it just looks so odd!

Earlier this month, another optical illusion had us thinking there was another ‘is the dress white and gold or blue and black scenario’ with this cigar sticking out of a brick wall.

When will these constant brain-teasers end?! We don’t think our minds can be blown any more than they already have.

Trending video: This optical illusion is so trippy!

Beyonce reconnects with her estranged father

“I love you guys so deep.”
Beyonce, Mathew Knowles

On Thursday May 26th, the Single Ladies songstress took to Instagram with a series of sweet family photos that included her little sister Solange, mum Tina Knowles-Larson and more curiously her father Mathew, who she famously has a complicated relationship with.

“My beautiful Father, Sis, and Mother. I love you guys so deep,” captioned the music icon alongside a happy snap of the three.

The singer’s nearest and dearest stepped out to support their loved one.

Another post shared by the 34-year-old shows her father playing candidly with Bey’s daughter Blue Ivy.

While the images show the picture of a happy family, we can’t help but notice the timing of their debut.

It’s true that the world is still reeling from the release of Queen Bey’s latest and perhaps most scandalous album Lemonade.

Playtime for Blue!

The telling tunes touch on some very personal aspects of the stars life, from her rumoured marital infidelity with Jay-Z, to her complicated relationship with her father.

In the tune “Daddy Lessons”, she sings: “When trouble comes to town / And men like me come around / Oh, my daddy said shoot.”

Also heard in the HBO special are the words spoken by the mother-of-one, “You remind me of my father, a magician / Able to exist in two places at once / In the tradition of men in my blood, you come home at 3 a.m. and lie to me.”

Check out how Jay Z recently responded to his wife’s album Lemonade, in his latest song. Hear a snippet in the video player below! Post continues…

It’s news to no one that Beyoncé’s father Mathew had more than one public foray into infidelity, which eventuated in his divorce from wife Tina back in 2011.

In the very same year, the 20-time Grammy award severed business ties with her dad, who until that point had managed her career all the way back from the Destiny’s Child days.

“I am grateful for everything he has taught me,” the Formation hitmaker said in a statement at the time.

Despite their complications, it would seem that the family have made amends.

“He is my father for life and I love my dad dearly,” her statement continued. “I am grateful for everything he has taught me.”

And Mathew seconded the pleasantries with his own statement. “Business is business and family is family.”

“I love my daughter and am very proud of who she is and all that she has achieved. I look forward to her continued great success.”

Blue and Bey are the Queens of twin style!

20yo mum-of-three begs for hysterectomy because she’s ‘too fertile’

“I’ve tried every form of contraception and nothing works for me.”

A healthy mother-of-two with one on the way is begging for a hysterectomy because she believes she is so fertile that she’ll never stop being pregnant.

Charlotte Peers, 20, from Greater Manchester, England, has two boys – Seb, two, and Jaxx, six months – and is 11-weeks pregnant.

She first fell pregnant when she was 15 years old, but suffered a miscarriage, and in the next five years, she fell pregnant three times – one of which she was using a contraceptive implant.

The stay-at-home mum wants a hysterectomy as she believes another C-section could leave her with serious health issues. She suffers from a condition called placenta accrete, where the placenta attaches and grows onto the scar from her previous caesareans.

Her birth of her second child ended with her bladder becoming stuck to her womb.

She says: “I’ve tried every form of contraception and nothing works for me.”

“I’ve begged my GP but I’ve been told that because I’m young and healthy I won’t be considered for a hysterectomy or a sterilisation.”

Charlotte has been told she has an 85 per cent chance placenta accrete will happen again. However, she has learnt that pregnancies always vary and that it could be treated without a hysterectomy operation.

“I guess they think I might change my mind about more kids in the future, but believe me, three is more than enough for me.”

“I’m so desperate not to have another baby after this one that I want a hysterectomy to make sure there is no chance of falling pregnant ever again.”

Her current doctor has suggested that doubling-up on contraception will help the couple but Charlotte isn’t prepared to do that. “I don’t react well to the pill, it makes me angry and tearful – I’ve fallen pregnant on both the injection and the implant and I don’t trust condoms.”

On the other hand, Charlotte’s partner would like a big family but doesn’t want to risk her health.

Charlotte had a miscarriage at 15 when she was four months pregnant. She hadn’t received any proper sex education so she hadn’t known she was pregnant.

She then had a contraceptive injection but three months prior to this, she came off the pill to ‘prepare her body’. She was under the impression she’d still be covered so she was shocked to learn she was pregnant again.

During her second pregnancy – in which she conceived while using the contraceptive implant – she suffered many complications and was told to expect a miscarry.

But Jaxx was born healthily and four months later, she fell pregnant with her third child.

“I’d been so busy with the boys, we hadn’t had time for sex so when the moment presented itself we went for it,’ she says. ‘I hadn’t had a proper period since Jaxx’s birth so I didn’t think I’d fall pregnant again – but I did.”

Both Charlotte and her partner rely on benefits, so she said that getting a hysterectomy will help the British taxpayers.

“At the moment taxpayers pay for my children and I don’t want to cost the country more by having more kids. Surely this will save the government more than the cost of a one-off hysterectomy.”

“I’m determined to get off benefits and get a job my kids will be proud of. But at the moment with two under two-years-old and another on the way I’m stuck at the moment.”

Corey Feldman: Corey Haim and I were ‘given to’ paedophiles

“They were passing us back and forth to each other.”
Corey Feldman: Corey Haim and I were ‘given to’ paedophiles

WARNING: Distressing content.

Actor Corey Feldman has opened up about the reported culture of paedophilia in Hollywood.

Feldman, the star of 80’s hit films including The Goonies and The Lost Boys, spoke to Hollywood Reporter about his late best friend Corey Haim’s rape by a producer at age 11.

“With me, there were some molestations and it did come from several hands, so to speak, but with Corey [Haim], his was direct rape, whereas mine was not actual rape,” the 44-year-old said.

“I believe that Haim’s rapist was probably connected to something bigger and that is probably how he has remained protected for all these years,” he told the magazine.

“This person uses intimidation and threats as a way to keep people quiet. And all these men were all friends.”

Corey Feldman today

“Ask anybody in our group of kids at that time: They were passing us back and forth to each other.”

“[Alison Arngrim] from Little House on the Prairie said [in an interview], ‘Everybody knew that the two Coreys were just being passed around,’” he continued.

Feldman went on to say that while he doesn’t want to identify his abusers, one of them was an employee of his father’s and “he’s still prominently in the business today.”

“If I were to go and mention anybody’s name, I would be the one that would be in legal problems and I’m the one that would be sued,” he said.

“If somebody came forward with a suit against one of these people [who molested me], I would certainly be more than happy to back them up. But that hasn’t happened.”

His comments come after fellow actor Elijah Wood recently said in an interview that paedophilia is Hollywood’s ‘evil secret’.

Australian backpacker vanishes in Rio airport

Australian backpacker vanishes in Rio airport

An Australian backpacker is missing in Brazil after telling a friend he was going to get a coffee at Rio de Janeiro’s international airport.

25-year-old Rye Hunt was last seen about 3.30pm on May 21.

Hunt was planning on travelling to Bolivia with his travelling buddy Mitchell Sheppard when they split up briefly to get a coffee, and arranged to meet up again half an hour later, reported The Examiner.

Hunt’s girlfriend, Bonnie Cuthbert, who lives in Perth, has shared a desperate plea on Facebook with an image and description of Hunt, in the hope of locating his whereabouts.

Credit: Facebook

He has not accessed his bank accounts, social media, or been in touch with his girlfriend since.

Hunt’s sister, Romany Brodribb says that when Hunt didn’t turn up, his friend went looking around the airport, talked to security for hours and returned to the hostel they were staying at to continue the search.

“Nobody has heard from him, including his girlfriend which is very unusual,” she said.

“We are really concerned for his safety and we are feeling really helpless being back here. We just want to know he is safe somewhere.”

Hunt’s family has filed a missing person report with the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade and the Australian Embassy.

A DFAT spokesman told the Examiner that the Australian Embassy in Brasilia was working closely with local authorities to locate a man reported missing in Brazil.

Hunt is described as 175cm tall with a tanned complexion and dark brown hair. He was last seen carrying a large blue and black backpack.

Today’s supermarket hullabaloo

It hasn't been a good week for Aldi, Coles and Woolworths. With Aldi’s controversial pledge to end caged eggs and outrage over Coles and Woolies slashed milk prices, these are the issues on our radar.

It’s been a big week for Australian supermarkets, and we wouldn’t necessarily say it’s been a good one. Coles, Aldi and Woolworths have all been under fire by passionate and vocal Australians who demand change – they want to stop cage eggs now and support Australian dairy farmers by boycotting supermarket branded milk.

These are the stories amongst the big three supermarkets that we couldn’t stop talking about this week.

Aldi’s controversial pledge to end caged eggs

Supermarket Aldi have made the pledge to stop selling cage eggs… but not till 2025. Nine years away.

The move came after a brave and passionate 14-year-old Angelina Popovski started a petition to stop selling inhumane cage eggs so that Aldi Australia could match what their US and Europe counterparts are doing.

Close to 100,000 signatures were on the petition and spurred Aldi Australia CEO Tom Daunt to make change.

Many on social media have been outraged that it’s taking them so long to roll out the changes.

Aldi responded to one comment explaining the long timeline, saying that it’s “due to limited amount of infrastructure to support cage-free only industry.”

Coles and Woolworths feeling the heat over discounted milk

Shoppers are continuing to revolt against cheap supermarket branded milk, even as Woolworths slash prices again to a staggering low of 50c for 2 litres.

A photo was posted on Facebook from Woolworths’ Redlands store (near Brisbane) showing the shocking price. Lisa Rowntree said on the Woolworths Facebook page: “Hey Woolies people, can you tell me which stores are selling milk for $0.50 for 2 litres? You should be ashamed of yourselves. ‪#‎Shame‬.”

Woolworths’ responded with: “Hey Lisa, due to the close expiry date, these items are being sold at $0.50 to clear the unused stock.”

Coles and Woolworths have been accused of exacerbating the pressure on dairy farmers by cutting their own milk prices.

There has been a massive surge of support over the current milk crisis, with people wanting to support Aussie dairy farmers by choosing not to buy supermarket branded $1/litre milk. The higher retail price of dairy farmers milk means more money goes to them.

Support has been so big that customer calls to Aussie Farmers Direct has jumped nearly 40 per cent over the past week and website traffic has doubled, as more shoppers are seeking out ways they can do the right thing by dairy farmers.

On Wednesday, Agriculture Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Barnaby Joyce announced that all farmers affected by the unexpected slash of prices would receive a $555 million concessional loan package. He told The Australian “The momentum is there nationally for farmers to get a fairer deal, $1 litre milk that is cheaper than bottled water is not fair.”

Greens leader Richard Di Natale showed his support on Wednesday night, saying: “We cannot continue to have a sustainable dairy industry while Coles and Woolies are ripping off dairy farmers.”

While the slash of prices from these supermarkets are still continuing, these are the milk brands you can buy to help the community:
