Taylor Swift and Calvin Harris speak out on their breakup

The pair have addressed their breakup for the first time after calling it quits earlier this week.

After just 15-months together, Taylor Swift and Calvin Harris called time on their relationship earlier this week.

Naturally, rumours of the nature of their breakup has been spreading, with fans wanting to know more than just a few details.

Who broke up with who? Was their split amicable? Are they still friends? Did cheating play a part in their untimely end?

Now, in an attempt to shut down speculation, Calvin Harris – whose real name is Adam Wiles – has taken to Twitter with a simple message for his fans.

“The only truth here is that a relationship came to an end & what remains is a huge amount of love and respect,” the 32-year-old DJ said to his 7 million followers, confirming their uncoupling.

Taylor is yet to release a statement of her own, but her decision to retweet his message shows that she wholeheartedly agrees with her ex’s sentiment.

From happier times: The couple shared this loved-up pic on a summer getaway to celebrate their one year anniversary.

While the news of their breakup broke yesterday, a source close to the estranged couple revealed to E! News that the 10-time Grammy Award winner and the Scottish DJ actually went their separate ways last week.

“Adam really liked Taylor, she was not the type of girl he ever dates and he liked that. He liked how innocent Taylor was and that she had a good caring heart.”

“Taylor’s heart was more in it then he was,” an insider revealed to the US publication.

The hitmaker had previously said he was “insanely happy” dating Tay. “It’s going absolutely fantastic,” he said.

“They were just not very compatible in different areas in their relationship,” the friend went on before explaining why the pair had a tough time making it work.

“The touring and traveling didn’t help. It seemed like they were more friends than lovers.”

Despite their differences, a friend has confessed to People that there was “no big blowout fight”, and the couple have chosen to remain friends.

“There was no drama, things just don’t work out sometimes.”

The 26-year-old went public with the Feel So Close hitmaker at the 2015 Billboard Music Awards.

Earlier this year, the blonde beauty opened up to Vogue, calling their relationship “magical”.

“I’m just taking things as they come,” she began. “I’m in a magical relationship right now. And of course I want it to be ours, and low-key … this is the one thing that’s been mine about my personal life.”

Boy abandoned in forest by parents found after six days

After his parents left him on the side of a road in a bear-infested forest, Yamato, 7, went missing. Six days later, he’s finally been found.

After seven-year-old Yamato Tanooka was abandoned in a forest in northern Japan as punishment by his parents, he has finally been found after six days, according to authorities.

His parents said that he was misbehaving so they made him get out of the car on a mountain road in a bear-inhabited forest. He reportedly had no food or water and when they went back to collect him, he wasn’t there.

The parents originally told police he’d gotten lost when they were all out hiking, and military have been searching for him ever since.

A fire department rescuer, Satoshi Saito, told AFP: “The boy was found alive, but we don’t have information on details of his condition.”

He was found in a building on an exercise area in Hokkaido, 5km away from where he went missing.

Yamato was allegedly “curled up” on a mattress, and the building had no heating. Weather reports say there was heavy rainfall in the area and overnight temperatures dropped to 7 degrees.

Broadcaster NHK reports he’s been taken to hospital.

How I became friends with my ex

Separating from a partner is always hard, especially when there’s children involved. Carolynn Tate explains how she managed to form a new relationship with her ex for the sake of her daughter.
How I became friends with my ex

When my ex and I decided to separate nearly 10 years ago, it was a tough time. We had plans for the future, eight years worth of photos, memories and private jokes, and a beautiful two-year-old girl whom we both adored.

The early stages were hard. There was blame and a whole lot of hurt from both sides. Each of us said and did things that we wouldn’t be proud of today. I remember shouting at my ex in the middle of the street outside my new apartment, dressed just in a t-shirt and undies, all over who got to keep our daughter’s tricycle.

Welcome to the neighbourhood!

But with a child involved, there comes a point where you just have to make things work. My parents separated when I was six and the memories of having to run to the footpath when my father pulled up and beeped his horn left me determined to ensure my daughter’s experience would be more nurturing.

My first step was to get over myself. Whatever my ex did and didn’t do during our time together had no bearing on his relationship with our daughter. Even during the period after our break-up when he partied pretty hard and wasn’t as responsible as he might have been, I consciously chose to keep my focus on our daughter.

Eventually he got the party out of his system which made liking him a whole lot easier.

Rather than him picking up our daughter for his days with her, we started meeting at a coffee shop near my house. This meant we got to share a coffee once a week and talk about how our daughter was going. This was a huge step for us and just meant we had a chance to talk about issues as they arose, rather than simmering with resentment. It also meant we got to laugh together and talk about other aspects of our lives.

Then, when our daughter started school, we began catching up for lunch without her. Of course we talked about her a lot at first, but then we got to sharing aspects of the rest of our lives.

When I turned 40, I went to a Day on the Green, which had my favourite band playing that day. And it just so happened it was my ex’s favourite band too. We lived together for eight years so we like a lot of the same stuff. It may not have seemed like a natural progression to invite him along but it was the right thing for me. We had a ball.

By this stage, I had a new husband and two more children in tow. My ex is excellent with them all. My younger kids like him and are always excited when he’s coming over to pick up their sister. Sometimes they are a little bit confused as to why she gets to go to his house and they don’t, but mostly they just accept that this is the way of things.

Now my ex is getting married to a wonderful woman who my daughter is crazy about. My entire family is invited to the wedding.

We got here because we both made a conscious choice that this is the place we wanted to get to. We wanted our daughter to be the happy, well-adjusted kid she is. We wanted to choose happiness for ourselves and for each other. We live with that choice every day in the actions we take and the way we communicate with each other.

How often should we have sex?

Not sure if you’re having a healthy amount of sex? Jacqueline Hellyer discusses.
How often should we have sex?

Foreplay is fun! (Image: Getty Images)

This is one of those ‘am I normal’ type questions that I’m always asked. The answer to the question ‘How often is normal?’ is simply: Whatever is right for you.

The question you should be asking is: How often is right for us?

If neither of you want to ever have sex, that’s fine, because that’s right for you. If you both want to have sex twice a day, terrific! That’s what’s right for you.

Clearly most people are somewhere between those two extremes.

I get some clients who come to see me claiming they’re having too much sex – or at least, the lower desire partner is claiming that their partner wants more than is ‘normal’.

More often though, clients assume they should be having more sex than they are having. They just take it as a given that everyone else is having lots of sex and so they should too. How much sex this ‘ideal’ amount is, is usually pretty vague, and they expect me to tell them.

I’ve noticed that a lot of women assume their partners want sex every day. This is generally because he’d like it more often than they’re having it, or more likely, he’d like better quality than they’re having. But that doesn’t mean every day. I’ve seen so many surprised women hear their partners say just once a week, maybe twice, would be great – especially as she often says the same thing!

A female client once told me that her husband wished she’d want sex every day like I do – except that I don’t! They’d assumed that because I specialize in sex that I must have sex daily, because that’s what they thought was the ‘ideal’ amount of sex.

I burst out laughing and then explained that I’m a quality rather than quantity kind of a gal. They were both quite puzzled initially until they ditched this myth. Then we could actually get real and work around what each of them actually wanted, not what they thought they should want.

Even if you would like sex more frequently, there are the realities of life. Hey, I’d like to go to a yoga class every day, but I can’t do that either. If I’m away on holidays, sure – daily yoga and daily sex! Bring it on! But back in the real world, nope.

So have an honest chat with each other about how often you’d really like to have sex, and more importantly what quality of sex you’d like to have. You’ll generally find that the better the quality, the less the higher desire partner will crave it and give the impression that he or she wants it all the time. The more open you are, the easier it is to find the balance that works just for you.

Murdered SA kids went hungry as slain mother put ice habit ahead of family

After a mum and her two kids were tragically murdered, court documents have come to light that she was leaving them to starve so she could fund her daily ice habit.

To add to the tragic story of two children and their mother who were murdered in Adelaide allegedly by her partner, it has been revealed that the kids were often left to starve while their mum spent all her money on her daily ice habit.

Secret Families SA documents were obtained by Seven News that highlighted the disgraceful conditions the children were living in and how 29-year-old Adeline Rigney Wilson put drugs ahead of her children.

The documents reveal that authorities knew of these circumstances but chose not to act because they didn’t have the staff resources to further the case.

Seven News reports that in a document last October, authorities knew of the extreme neglect and drug abuse, but the case was closed because of staff shortages and full case-loads for social work staff.

Wilson-Rigney was allegedly murdered by her partner Steven Peet on Tuesday after a domestic dispute. He also killed her kids Kory, 5, and Amber, 6.

Adeline Rigney-Wilson

This week it was also revealed that child protective services had visited the mother and children at their home in Hillier, north of Adelaide, just hours before they were killed.

Peet was charged with three counts of murder. In a police interview, he said he remembered arguing with Wilson-Rigney but didn’t remember what happened next.

Steven Peet

He did not apply for bail and will appear in Adelaide Magistrates Court in August.

Families SA’s handling of the case can only be scrutinised after a coronial inquest, but according to the state coroner, that won’t happen for two to three years.

The quip was also posted on the show’s Twitter account directly after it aired.

However, it was taken down after their followers slammed them for being “racist.”

The show’s Executive Producer Glenn Pallister has since apologised for any offence caused, conceding the joke had been made at the woman’s expense.

“We apologise for any offence caused, the segment is a comedy one where we have fun with people, but not intentionally at their expense,” Pallister said in a statement to Fairfax Media.

“We clearly went too far on this occasion.”

The comment comes just one day after Sam Thaiday’s on-field comments after Queensland’s State of Origin win divided the public.

Queen Elizabeth and Marilyn Monroe

In April, the world celebrated Her Majesty’s 90th birthday, but another icon would have also been celebrating the same milestone this year.

Although such opposing characters, iconic model and actress Marilyn Monroe would have turned 90 earlier this week on June 1.

To celebrate the would-be momentous occasion, an extremely rare piece of footage has emerged of the two women who lived such separate lives – Marilyn in Hollywood, and the monarch in Buckingham Palace, meeting publicly for the first and last time.

See the incredibly footage in the video player below. Post continues…

The sex symbol and the leader met at the film premiere of The Battle of the River Plate in London’s Leicester Square.

Marilyn, who was on the arm of her then-husband Arthur Miller, showed off her enviable curves in a sleek silk gown and gloves.

Her Majesty looked equally as striking in an off-the-shoulder black dress, accessorised by a glittering Grand Duchess Vladimir tiara.

The two women, although the same age, led completely different lives.

The rare clip shows the blonde beauty waiting in the receiving line to curtsy and shake hands with the monarch, who had ascended the throne four years earlier after the death of her father George VI.

This meeting was likely the pair’s first and last. During the time the footage was captured, both women were just 30 years old, and it was just six years later in 1962 that Marilyn, whose real name was Norma Jean Baker, was found dead in her Brentwood home.

The star would have celebrated her 90th birthday on June 1st.

Reporter Tara Brown, director of sport Tom Malone, 60 Minutes executive producer Kirsty Thomson and the now-sacked executive producer Stephen Rice were the four ‘names’ in question.

Cameraman Ben Williamson and sound recordist David Ballment were not considered for disciplinary action as they did not play a large enough role in the botched child abduction.

The 60 Minutes team travelled to Beirut where a team from Child Abduction Recovery international were paid to grab the two children of Brisbane mother Sally Faulkner.

On April 7, Faulkner and the 60 Minutes crew were arrested by Lebanese police.

A rumoured $1 million payment to the children’s father Ali Elamine enabled them to be released.

However, Faulkner was also forced to relinquish full custody of her two children.

Tom Cruise hasn’t spoken to Suri in 1000 days

And a source said Scientology is to blame.

They were married for five years but after they divorced in 2012, Katie Holmes took retaining custody of her and Tom Cruise’s 10-year-old daughter, Suri.

Now comes shocking news that the 53-year-old actor hasn’t “seen or spoken to his girl in 1,000 days”, reports In Touch Weekly.

Sources are pointing to his strong ties to Scientology as a reason why he hasn’t had contact with her.

In Touch Weekly says that the last time Tom saw or spoke on the phone to Suri was more than two and a half years ago, using his “film commitments as an excuse”.

He’s currently in London filming The Mummy, has two films in post-production and has three more in the near future.

The source says that his busy schedule “doesn’t hold much weight with Suri anymore.”

The magazine reports that the reason he could be phasing his daughter out is because Scientology members are told to shun anyone who is thought to be critical of the group.

“Tom eats, breathes and sleeps Scientology,” the source said. “He’s disconnected from Katie, and then de facto from Suri, because of her connection to Katie. He hasn’t seen her since she was seven.”

Tom has two other children, Isabella, 23, and Connor, 21, whom he adopted with ex-wife Nicole Kidman.

Amber Heard wont press charges against Johnny Depp

The news comes after explosive text messages documenting alleged abuse came to light.

Amber Heard has reportedly decided not to press charges against Johnny Depp over the alleged attack that prompted her to file for divorce.

According to the Sun, Heard is believed to have abandoned her plan to file a police report over the clash at the couple’s Los Angeles home last month.

The news follows the release of a series of text messages that document a history of violence. The messages, allegedly sent between Heard and one of Depp’s assistants include details of violent incidents during the couple’s relationship.

The exchange is believed to have taken place in May, 2014. They begin with a text, apparently sent by ‘Stephen’, apologising on behalf of a man believed to be Depp.

It reads: “Think he’s just texted you. He’s incredibly apologetic and knows that he has done wrong. He wants to get better now.

“He’s been very explicit about that this morning. Feel like we’re at a critical juncture.”

The recipient, believed to be Amber, replied: “Yes but I don’t know how to be around him after what he did to me yesterday. I don’t know if I can stay with him.”
