The father of Bobbi Kristina Brown spoke to interviewer Robin Roberts for US news show 20/20.

In short preview for the show, Bobby spoke about the similarity between his ex-wife and little girl’s deaths, saying: “The same thing that happened to my daughter, it happened to Whitney.”

Bobbi Kristina was just 22 when she passed away.

The only daughter of the RnB songstress was eerily found unconscious in a bathtub, which lead to her spending six months in a medically induced coma before she tragically died.

Her mother, who had long battled addiction, died three years earlier after she too was found unresponsive in a bathtub.

“The hardest thing I had to do in my life was tell my daughter to let go. My baby’s gone. I thank God I’m still here,” the bereaved father said in the interview, which will be released later this week.

Following the loss of his daughter, Bobby Brown released a statement, which read, “Krissy was and is an angel. I am completely numb at this time. My family must find a way to live with her in spirit and honour her memory. Our loss is unimaginable.”

Whitney’s family confirmed the tragic loss through a Facebook post.

“Bobbi Kristina Brown passed away Sunday, July 26 2015 surrounded by her family. She is finally in the arms of God,” the Houston family penned at the time.

“We want to again thank everyone for their tremendous amount of love and support during these last few months.”

The singer is promoting his autobiography, Every Little Step: My Story

Bobby, who was married to Whitney for 15 years, is expected to talk about everything from his personal losses to his marriage with Whitney and how her addiction affected their relationship.

“I came into the marriage with money, and I left the marriage with nothing,” Bobby remarks in the show’s promo.

The candid chat, which will air in full this Tuesday, comes in light of the release of the 47-year-old’s memoir Every Little Step: My Story, which is set to hit stands later this year.

Why eating fat helps you lose weight

They have a bad reputation, but incorporating fats into your diet can actually help you trim down.
Miranda Kerr

This might come as a surprise, but consuming fats in your diet are actually part of a crucial formula to keep your body healthy.

Despite what we have been told in the past, fats are not the enemy and there isn’t any need to eliminate it from your diet.

Not only are they essential for growth and development, fats also provide energy, maintain healthy cell membranes, protect your organs and provide energy.

But before you go and order yourself a pizza with extra cheese, you should know that not all fats are good fats.

Ellen DeGeneres knows pizza is a treat food, not an everyday food.

MUFAs, or monounsaturated fats, and PUFAs or polyunsaturated fats, are two types of ‘good fats’ which are considered essential for your body’s optimal health.

Foods that contain MUFAs include whole milk products, nuts, olives and avocados.

Not only are all of these delicious, they actually help to lower cholesterol and reduce heart disease – unlike their cousin trans fats.

Can you guess which celebrity loves avocado enough to ink it on her skin? It’s Miley Cyrus, of course!

PUFAs on the other hand include fish such as salmon, mackerel and trout as well as sunflower oil and sesame seeds.

These foods, much like MUFAs help to reduce the risk of stroke and heart disease, but also provide essential fats that your body needs and can’t produce itself – such as omega-6 and omega-3 fatty acids which aid in joint pain, memory retainment and health baby development.

So, where does weight loss fit into all of this?

According to Keri Glassman, nutritionist and owner of Nutritious Life meal system, good fats help the body to burn fats by acting like a calorie-burning fuel.

“When you don’t have any fat in your diet it’s like you don’t have fuel to burn calories,” she said to Livestrong.

What’s more, good fats also help the body feel fuller for longer – eliminating those post mealtime grumbles and midnight snack urges, meaning you’re less likely to consume excess sugars from unnecessary snacking.

The always-flawless Chrissy Teigen starts her day with avocado.

But perhaps the most important benefit of good fats lies within its ability to work hand in hand with the vitamins and minerals required for a healthy weight.

Nutrients such as vitamins A, D, E and K are fat soluble, which means that without fat, the body is unable to absorb them.

Without the ability to actually take in the goodness from your vitamin-rich meals, your body can become vitamin deficient leading to brittle bones, muscular pain, dermatitis and even blood clotting.

So next time you make yourself a nutrient rich meal, make sure to add some avocado or olive oil!

Avocados can make a delicious addition to almost any meals. They can even be used as a fat substitute in baking or in the place of butter. Try this poached egg and avocado bruschetta for your next brunch!

Adoptive mum abandons baby with birth defect

The adoptive mum-to-be took one look at little Abigail, and left the hospital.

When Christina Fischer found out she was pregnant, she decided to put her baby up for adoption so the little girl would have a chance at a better life.

By the time her due date rolled around, the adoptive parents had been chosen and were sitting excitedly in the hospital waiting room preparing to meet their new daughter.

But when Abigail Lynn was born and the parents discovered she had a rare birth defect, they left the hospital in tears, never to be heard from again.

“I let her (adoptive mom) take the other wristband into the NICU, she came out crying, and left the hospital. We never heard from them again.” Christina told the Northwest Florida Daily News.

Abigail was born with Treacher Collins, a disorder that affects the development of the bones and tissues of the face. The condition is almost entirely cosmetic and will not affect Abigail’s chances of living a normal life, although she may have to have reconstructive facial surgery in the future.

Christina decided to keep her daughter and now says she can’t imagine life without her.

“I took it as a sign that she was supposed to be mine. And now, she is my heart,”

Why dads should leave the discipline to mums

Dads are traditionally the family disciplinarian but research suggests mums are better at laying down the law.

“Just wait till your dad gets home” was one of my mother’s favourite sayings.

Unfortunately “I’ll give you something to cry about” was one of my father’s, so you can imagine the joy surrounding our home at about 6pm on the bad days.

This is when my dad would walk in the door after a long day at work to punish his children for some misdemeanour he hadn’t even known existed as he parked his car in the driveway five minutes earlier.

And we weren’t alone. It turns out thousands of other mums had spent their days trying to get their children to listen to them, and when they had used every weapon in their arsenal they brought out the big one “wait until your dad gets home”, the implication being that dad will deal with it.

Dad whose voice was much louder, whose presence was for more threatening and whose punishment would be far more successful.

Clearly it was a terrible deal for dads and only served to cement the stereotype that men are more effective disciplinarians, and even worse that they are to be feared while women are weaker and less able to handle difficult situations.

It’s been a long time since I was even tempted to use that threat, my child is a teen and there’s more chance that I’d have to wait for him to be home instead of him waiting for his dad to get home.

Parenting teens is a whole different ball game from parenting toddlers although the similarities that do exist are startlingly similar. There’s a reason they call three year olds “threenagers” and a reason they call teenagers “toddlers on steroids with tantrums that could put your worst nightmare diva to shame,” even though maybe it’s just me that calls them that.

And while threats don’t work very well on teens it turns out that having the male partner shouting at them doesn’t work so well either.

Child and Family Blog, who work to bridge the gap between the worlds of research and policy making, recently conducted research wherein they filmed 500 adolescents talking separately with both their mum and dad at home.

Both parents showed similar levels of warmth and verbal hostility to their teenagers so there were no erroneous results arising from lack of warmth. What they found was that the same parental behaviours had considerably different effects, depending on which parent was involved.

When the father showed hostility by shouting, being critical, showing disapproval or rejecting what the adolescent was saying, the teenager’s behaviour toward everybody, both family members and strangers, tended to become worse. The same thing didn’t happen when the mothers were hostile.

This has certainly given me food for thought.

Sometimes when my husband shouts at our son, or shows general irritation towards his (sometimes very explicit teenage) conduct, the over protective mother in me rears her lion’s head. I have a huge yearning to jump in and smooth things over, create harmony and assure my son he is loved and treasured.

I even find myself making excuses for his behaviour. This would probably be frowned on by most reasonable people and identified as very unsupportive. Does it help that I acknowledge that?

Funnily enough when I yell at him or get annoyed with his sometimes very er, typical teenage behaviour I feel quite justified in shouting and I never worry for a second that he won’t feel loved because I know where my anger is coming from. I guess I feel more in control.

And while I acknowledge that not allowing my husband to express his frustration or discipline our child in the way he sees fit, is unfair at least and as unconstructive as it is unsupportive, at least I have some research to back me up and allow me to do all the shouting.

Mike Tindall doesn’t want Mia to go to boarding school

She’s daddy’s little Princess, so it’s no wonder Mike Tindall wants Mia to stay close to home.
Mike Tindall, Zara Tindall, Mia Tindall

The burly former football legend showed of his tender side when he admitted to the Daily Mail that he’s not keen for his daughter to follow royal tradition and attend boarding school.

“I’m certainly not keen on sending Mia away to a boarding school at the other end of the country,” the retired rugby player admitted while he was at Abbey Road studios, where he was supporting a fundraising event for children’s charity Hope and Homes.

The 37-year-old attended a private school in the English town of Wakefield, expressing he thinks that would be the perfect option for his little one.

“Personally, I’d rather she attend a school that’s nearby, where we’ll always be on hand if she needs us,” he said.

“Anything else goes against my instincts.”

While Zara, Prince Philip and Prince Charles all attended Gordonstoun, an elite boarding school in northern Scotland, it seems the young royals are moving away from tradition.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge enrolled Mia’s cousin Prince George into Westacre Montessori School, a local nursery school in Norfolk.

And for the dad-of-one, he has no issue going against royal tradition so that his little girl can be close to him.

“I know many people who say boarding was the making of them because they forged great independence from their parents, but I don’t really want her to be distanced from us,” he quipped.

But Mia is still very young, and Zara and Mike still have quite some time before they make any serious schooling decisions.

Watch Zara talk about motherhood in the video player below. Post continues…

“She loves being outside and is full of life!”

The worst possible thing to find in your fresh veggies

We would be terrified to find this.

There are a few things you can find in your fresh veggies that can be kinda gross. Tiny slugs, caterpillars, little insects. Usually you just wash it away or cut off that particular piece, easy as.

But when it’s a spider – and quite a large one – that crawls out, you have permission to run for the hills.

Well, that happened in real life to one Coles customer after the arachnid crawled out of silver beet she’d bought that afternoon.

A woman named Shena Campbell from Devonport, Tasmania, posted this creepy photo to the Coles Facebook page which shows the spider in a plastic container.

Try to look at it without shuddering.

“Eeeek, this 8 legged arachnid crawled out of the coloured silverbeet I purchased this arvo. After a mini freak out I captured it and will move it to a more suitable area (ie: far away from me). Just thought i’d let you know,” she wrote to Coles.

In a response comment, Coles said that the issue concerning (extremely so) and that they’d follow it up with their National Quality team.

No word yet on which store it came from, but it serves as a reminder to always check the fresh veggies before taking them home!
