JonBenét Ramsey’s mother’s 911 call is in new trailer for explosive docu-series

The Case of JonBenét Ramsey will see investigators try and get answers on the unsolved murder of the child pageant queen twenty years on.

This year will mark 20-years since JonBenét Ramsey was violently murdered in her family’s basement and yet, the case is still unresolved.

Now a new docu-series, The Case of JonBenét Ramsey will see investigators revisit the death of the 6-year-old pageant queen in a bid to find answers.

In a sign of what is set to come out of the CBS production, the trailer features the chilling phone call JonBenét Ramsey’s mother Patsy made on the night of her daughter’s murder on 24 December 1996.

The new clip – which was released earlier this week – shows experts planning to further analyse Patsy’s call using new technology to strip back the audio and reveal a conversation that happened when the Ramseys thought the call had been disconnected.

The 911 operator who took the call also features in the trailer and tearfully maintains she’s never been questioned by authorities.

“Twenty years, nobody asked me,” the operator says. “I think it would have really turned the case around.”

Orlando Bloom Katy Perry

Orlando Bloom’s relationship with songstress Katy Perry has been nothing but smooth sailing in recent months, with a source close to the actor suggesting that the couple are ready to take the next step.

The loved-up pair, who were first linked after a flirtatious evening at the Golden Globes, are “not engaged yet, but seem to be heading that way,” says a source to People.

And according to the insider, the Honeymoon period is far from over, adding that Orlando “always gushes about Katy and thinks she is amazing in a million ways.”

“He would love to settle down with Katy and have more kids. He hasn’t been this serious about a girl since Miranda.”

It’s getting serious! Katy has officially met Orlando’s son, Flynn.

The friend was, of course, referring to the Pirates of the Caribbean star’s five-year-old son, Flynn, who he shares with ex-wife and supermodel, Miranda Kerr.

And although he’s keen to give his mini-me a younger brother or sister, a friend alleges that Katy is considerably more cautious to tie the knot after her heart-breaking split from Russell Brand.

“Katy’s divorce from Russell really messed her up emotionally,” says a friend.

“She’s not going to rashly make a huge commitment like marriage again unless she thinks it’s absolutely right.”

The star had her heart broken when he comedian filed for divorce in late 2011, just one year after their fairytale wedding.

For now, the Roar hitmaker is happy taking it slow, and enjoying every moment spent with the British beau – including the naked paddleboard rides.

“They’ve been getting along really well. Katy gives him space, and they’re both pretty independent,” the source says.

“They are serious about each other and their relationship.”

As for us, we cannot wait for another baby Bloom!

This woman shows how tiny sample size clothing really is

Proof of the fashion industry's infatuation with thin models on the runway.

Liz Black is the creator of the website P. S. It’s Fashion and a lead plus-size fashion writer for Refinery29.

In a recent piece with You Do You titled ‘What Is Sample Size?’ she modelled sample size clothing as a way to highlight the ridiculousness of the size of the clothing. Sample size clothing worn by models on the catwalk tends to vary from a US size 0-4 which equates to a UK size 4-8.

Liz highlighted the fashion industry’s infatuation with thin models on the runway showing ‘the average woman’s body attempting to breach those sample size garments, reminiscent to how the plus-size movement is attempting to breach the fashion industry today.’

In a piece on her own website, Liz acknowledges that the fashion industry has changed since she was a teenager and that there are so many more options that exist, but that other things have remained ‘stagnant’.

She also discusses the reasons for designers using such small measurements such as feeling forced to comply to the industry standard, wanting people to see the clothes rather than the woman and for cost-cutting purposes.

The take away sentiment is, as always, that the fashion industry needs to diversify and become more inclusive.

In an interview with People, she added ‘It doesn’t mean that we have to lose that body type, and I’m not body shaming people who are naturally thin, but very often these models are being instructed to keep their bodies smaller than they would be naturally to fit into these sample sizes.’

Margot’s discovered the wind-down method while on set of Whiskey Tango Foxtrot.

“I like to have a beer shower – a nice beer in the shower,” the Suicide Squad star confessed to the glossy mag.

Explaining, “When I did Whiskey Tango Foxtrot, I was saying, ‘Oh, my God, I can’t wait to go home,’ and Tina Fey’s costume lady was like, ‘Me too. I can’t wait to go home and have a beer shower.'”

“I was like, ‘What’s a beer shower?’ She said she drinks an ice-cold beer in a boiling-hot bath or shower, and it made her sleep. I was like, ‘That sounds perfect!'”

“So now when I get home from work, I have a beer shower or a beer bath if I have time.”

The 26-year-old confessed that she’s “something of an insomniac,” and has to use anything from eye masks to soothing music to get her to sleep.

Judging by her impeccable complexion, we’d say something is working!

In dire times, the former Neighbours star turns to something a little more magical…

“I’m a massive Harry Potter nerd, and although I’ve read the books probably 20 times each, I read Harry Potter before bed and it helps me switch my brain off,” she said.

While Margot isn’t figuring out the best way to catch some zeds, she’s off delivering some grade-A burns to her castmates.

This week, Margot was joined by her co-star Will Smith for a BBC Radio 1 interview and the pair went head-to-head for a little game of Playground Insults.

Basically, the duo have to insult each other… And it is glorious!

Channeling her best Harley Quinn, Margot delivered jabs like: “You were the worst looking cast member in I Am Legend.”

Will, clearly shocked, clarified the limited cast, “That was me, zombies, and a dog.”

And this brilliant zinger, “You’re so old I had to Google The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, I didn’t know what it was.”

We think the girl from Ramsay Street has definitely earned a cold one! Watch the best bits from the segment in the video player below.

Evicted QLD man’s sickening revenge porn on ex-female housemate

This is appalling.

After not paying rent, Paul Lindsay Dever was evicted from his Queensland share-house by his young female housemate. However, what he did next that will make sick to your core.

The MailOnline reports that the 44-year-old man went into his housemate’s room and copied across her private sex videos before uploading them to Youtube as an act of revenge.

If that wasn’t disgusting enough, Dever then sent the link to the property’s landlord, leaving the young woman left feeling ‘dirty and embarrassed’, the Courier Mail reports.

Dever, who has a history of violent and abusive phone calls including threatening to kill a police officer in 2012, had also responded to another housemate ad on Gumtree with a graphic image of his genitalia, leaving the woman ‘traumatised’ that he knew her address and personal information.

Dever was sentenced to a total of 18 months in prison for distributing prohibited visual recordings and using a carriage service to ménage, harass or cause offence.

Our thoughts are with the victims of this horrific ordeal.

Chrissy Teigen Snapchats her stretch marks, we fall in love

The former Sports Illustrated cover girl also has a new name for stretch marks which we are lobbying all women adopt.

Chrissy Teigen has been refreshingly honest about what happens to your body after childbirth. The supermodel has shared her hilarious fake tan struggles, and now she’s Snapchatted her stretch marks because she’s a damn goddess.

On Wednesday the model, mama, social media queen and all-round legend posted a close-up of her inner thigh to Snapchat, with the caption “Lol my thighs have tributaries”.

Can we all agree to start calling stretch marks “tributaries” now? It’s so much more fun to say! It’s like “Ooh, look – I’ve got another tributary this morning. Yes!”

Chrissy and her hubby, John Legend.

It’s so refreshing to see from the 30-year-old mother-of-one.

Essentially, Chrissy is saying it’s okay to not be #flawless, and that this whole game we’re all playing pretending to be perfect has got a little of out of hand, and maybe we should all just put away the filters every now and then.

Chrissy – who is married to singer John Legend and gave birth to the couple’s first child, a daughter named Luna born in April – is not shy about sharing her body revelations with her fans.

Last year the American supermodel received praise for posting a shot of her tributaries (it’s catching on, don’t you think?) with the caption: “Bruises from bumping kitchen drawer handles for a week. Stretchies say hi!”

Yes. She’s gloriously real.

Amber Heard’s lawyers retract divorce settlement statement

The star’s legal team have retracted a statement released one day after the estranged couple reached a reported $7 million settlement.
Amber Heard Johnny Depp

It’s a classic case of ‘spoke too soon’.

Earlier this week, Amber Heard and Johnny Depp finally reached a divorce settlement of $7 million after what has undoubtedly been one of the most acrimonious splits in Hollywood history.

Shortly after this settlement was reached, Amber’s lawyers, Samantha F. Spector and Joseph Koenig, issued a statement saying that they were “pleased” with the outcome, and that her client had been “vindicated in the Court of Public Opinion.”

Hours later, the 30-year-old’s legal team retracted this statement and issued an apology to the star’s former husband, as the comments were made without Amber Heard’s approval.

No doubt Johnny will be pleased that everything is now said and done.

“The statement made today on behalf of myself and Joseph Koenig was made without the knowledge or approval of Amber Heard. The statement is untrue and we retract it, without qualification.

“My assertion that Amber Heard has been vindicated in the court of public opinion is not true. We regret the error and apologize to Johnny Depp.”

As previously reported earlier this week, Amber withdrew her request for restraining order against her 53-year-old ex-husband, while the former couple confirmed the end to their tumultuous split with a carefully-worded, joint statement.

“Our relationship was intensely passionate and at times volatile, but always bound by love. Neither party has made false accusations for financial gain.”

It continued: “There was never any intent of physical or emotional harm. Amber wishes the best for Johnny in the future. Amber will be donating financial proceeds from the divorce to a charity.”

It is not known yet just how much of the $7 million settlement will go to charity.

News of the settlement comes just days after a video allegedly showing Johnny smashing glasses in a fit of rage was leaked to the media, as well as a claim by Amber that Johnny left her a message in blood that accused her of cheating with actor Billy Bob Thornton after he sliced off the tip of his finger in anger.

Meanwhile, the Fargo has broken his silence and denied Johnny’s alleged claims Amber had an affair with him.

“Amber never cheated on Johnny with Billy Bob,” a rep for Billy Bob told E! News.

Health officials warn of meningococcal outbreak

The peak season for meningococcal outbreak is upon us. And health authorities are warning the public to take precautions to prevent catching it. Here's how.

The peak season for meningococcal outbreak– winter and spring– is upon us. And health authorities are warning the public to take precautions to prevent catching it.

There have been forty cases reported in NSW already this year, according to NSW Health.

People of all ages can get this serious illness, but adolescents and children up to the age of five are at highest risk of the condition. That’s why parents with young children especially are being urged to familiarise themselves with the symptoms, check their child’s vaccinations are up to date and act quickly if they suspect the illness.

Children can be protected against the B and C strain of the meningococcal bug with a vaccine.

Paediatrician Dr Jenny Royle says the keys to fighting this rare, but serious infection are timely vaccinations and keeping a close eye on children who are unwell.

“The existence of that germ, type B, is why families need to know about meningococcal disease, and be vigilant about it,” says Dr Royle, who works with the immunisation service at Melbourne’s Royal Children’s Hospital.

“The difficulty is that when the meningococcal germ becomes generalised in the blood stream, it has a very fast, sinister action, and that’s why you can very quickly die before anyone has even known what you’ve got.”

Flu Vaccinations

What is meningococcal disease?

This is an infection with the meningococcal bacteria which can cause inflammation of the lining of the brain, which is called meningitis, or an infection in the blood, septicaemia and sometimes both.

Three main bacteria can cause meningitis: meningococcal, pneumococcal and Haemophilus influenza type b (Hib). Vaccines are available for Hib, for the common strains of pneumococcal and for meningococcal B and C. Viruses can also cause meningitis.

The meningococcal bacteria are spread through droplets from the nose or throat through sneezing or coughing.

Figures show that between 2000 and 2002, 522 children under the age of four were admitted to hospital with meningococcal disease. It’s treated with antibiotics but even with urgent attention, about 10% of those with the illness die. Others can be left with a permanent brain injury and deafness.

Signs and symptoms

Parents have been made well aware of the red rash associated with meningococcal disease – it’s the one which doesn’t fade when pressed with a glass. Even though it’s an important symptom of the illness, it often means the illness is already well underway.

“It’s a good sign of meningococcal disease, but you’d also like to pick it up before you get that rash,” says Dr Royle.

Other signs to look out for include fever, irritability, extreme tiredness, vomiting, turning away from the light and drowsiness.

“In young babies it’s good to have a low index of suspicion with an unwell child with a fever,” says Dr Royle.

“Parental worry about children is often very helpful and accurate. If you’ve been to the doctor and sent home, and your baby’s getting worse, or not getting better, parents should act on their own sense of worry and get the child re-checked.”

It’s also crucial to make sure vaccines are given on time, not delayed, or the consequences can be tragic.

“You don’t want to have your vaccines late, you want to get them as soon as they are due… that’s really the best thing you can do for preventing meningitis. We have seen cases in families who delayed, and that is really bad.”

Meningococcal vaccine facts

  • A vaccine for Type B and C Meningococcal disease is available.

  • Immunisation is the best protection against Haemophilus influenzae type b (Hib) and meningococcal group C disease. The National Immunisation Program provides the first three doses of Hib vaccine to children at two, four and six months of age in a combination vaccine. The final booster dose of Hib vaccine is given in combination with meningococcal C vaccine at 12 months of age. Common side effects from immunisations are usually mild and temporary, and do not require specific treatment.

  • The duration of protection is uncertain but hopefully life-long.

  • The vaccine is free from your GP.

  • Side effects from these vaccines are uncommon and are usually mild, but may include:
