Before you get too excited about the return of Kath & Kim to our screens, we’d like to bring it to your attention that the Nine Network will not be airing new episodes of the series.
Nine will be screening repeats of the show that ran from 2002 to 2007 – which in our minds is still cause for celebration! The network has acquired the rights to the back catalogue of the series and will kick things off with season one, episode one tonight.
Kate & Kim will go down as one of our favourite Australian comedies of all time. In 2004 the foxy ladies even performed at the TV WEEK Logie Awards!
While we’d love to know what Sharon (Magda Szubanski), Kim (Gina Riley) and Kath (Jane Turner) are up to these days, we’re more than happy to relive the original adventures of the gang.
One of our all-time favourite moments (there are SO many to choose from) would have to be when Kath married Kel.
A pumpkin coach and punch served out of a rubbish bin were all part of the festivities at the wedding of Kath to her butcher boyfriend Kel (Glenn Robbins). The shows catchphrase: “It’s nice, it’s different, it’s unusual,” pretty much sums it up!
