Natalie Portman is pregnant with her second child and showed off her growing baby bump at the premiere of her new film Planetarium, at the Venice Film Festival.
The 35-year-old Oscar winner looked radiant in a white floor length gown as she stepped out on the red carpet on Thursday.
The Black Swan star and her husband, Benjamin Millepied, already have five-year-old son Aleph, 5 whom they have been very careful to keep out of the limelight.
Unlike other celebs Portman isn’t on social media so the insights to her private life are rare. The actress did however open up to talk show host Jimmy Kimmel in August how she was going to deal with her son watching her in Star Wars.
“He [hasn’t seen], but he knows about it, of course,” Portman told Kimmel of her Star Wars films on Thursday, August 25.
“It’s kind of a shame because you know when I made it, I was like, ‘This is going to be the coolest thing, one day when I have kids, I can show them.’ And boys, of course, are obsessed with it and know all about it before they’ve seen it. Then I realised: I die in the movies. I feel like it’s kind of a scary thing to show your kid.”
Portman is going to be busy in the next few months. Not only is she pregnant and doing press for Planetarium, she’s also starring as Jackie O in the biopic, JACKIE which centres on the days after former US president JFK was shot.
Asked if playing the suddenly widowed first lady was her toughest role yet, Portman told Variety it was “definitely up there.”
JACKIE will release in Australian cinemas nationally in early 2017 and also stars Peter Sarsgaard, Greta Gerwig and Billy Crudup.
